Retaining possession after winning the faceoff is helpful too. - Rota's Rooter
Yeh arguably far more important --- have some clown at the point that can't keep it in the zone- and basically it doesn't matter if you won or lost it at the dot.

Ottawa needs goaltending. Once they got rid of Anderson, their goaltending has been a merrygoround.
- LAHawk
Definitely and added depth won’t hurt. Yesterday they needed a few brain transplants. I lost count of the number of two on ones. - paulr
You are both all over it, they need goaltending and bottom six. I don’t agree with PE on needing high end talent, they have that in Tkachuk, Stutzle, Chabot, Chychrun, and Sanderson for starters, of course more high end talent wouldn’t hurt. They are also missing Joshua Norris this year, a very talented center.
Edit- Rico touched on this and more. |

Man, the Blue Jackets blew a four goal lead, hopefully they get a goal and win it. |

Boy do they suck, it was funny how they were boasting how they didn't have to do a rebuild but just a reset. Can't stand the fact we traded 2 first round picks to them. Werenski may be better than S Jones but I'd rather have Seth Jones at least he can stay on the ice. |

They’re inching into Nashville/St. Louis territory for me. They’ve fleeced us every two years for a long time now, it’s only tradition if they get the first overall pick and we get 2-5. |

They got bigger problems like Laine, Gudreau and Werenski, we have a clean slate other than S Jones but then again i don't mind him as much as others do.

I’d be fine with any of those players, Laine has been a point per game the past two season on a bad team. Gudreau is a very good player, although that term is scary. They also have a load of high pick prospects, including the top ten pick they got from us for Jones. Jarmo is likely chuckling and rubbing his hands together right now. |

I think CLB was up 4-0 thru 2 periods! They get a point losing in OT..... AZ is up 4-2 over STL with 8:00 to go. |

So i guess the first three cups by hawks mean nothing. I stand by my statement. Same with oilers.. they have a system and draft to fit that system. |

How many games has Montreal won the last 20 years or so? - rpeters01
Games? Quite a few.. probably more that the hawks. I guess you would trade 25 cups for three. You would trade yankees ws trophies for one for cubs. Oh ok. |

The Oilers and The Canadiens are under different ownership besides several iteration’s of hockey front op’s since the last time either team has won a cup.
Oilers’s were allowed to keep Gretzky when the WHA merged with the NHL (as opposed to Winnepeg being able to keep the Swedes as punishment for poaching B. Hull. Montreal during the dynasty of the 70’s was allowed to “draft” the top 2 junior’s of French decent ( think Houle, Tardiff) as priority draft picks. Before there was a draft, NHL teams sponsored junior teams, and the kids that played with those teams became the NHL teams “ property”
So no, the Oilers, and Canadiens do not have the same “systems” as their dynasty years.
I won’t even get into the game’s rule changes (no center line offside, touch up offsides, etc) plus different interpretation of what is/is not a penalty that would change the attributes the teams are looking for at the draft. |

Yep. The have a winning tradition. Remind me again what century they won all their Cups in and which century we're in now.
Thanks for the new perspective you've given me as a Bear fan though. I'm pretty pumped about the 8 titles they have even though I've only been alive for one of them. |

Actually, by this poster's metric the Leaves are also a winning organization. |

Does anyone know how the tie breaker works for worst record?
Let’s say Hawks and CBJ or ANH or SJS all end up the same point total…
Who is the last place team?

Believe it would be the team with the least amount of wins, but don't quote me. |
