i used to just forego the wiping and just strip down and jump in the shower every once in awhile.

haven't had to do it in years

save a ton on tp, a roll lasts days

it can be warm if you have a warm water connection nearby or toilet is next to the sink but I'm used to the cold, doesn't bother me anymore. it's the feeling of freshness

Agree with Mussel. Once you've got it set after one or two uses you're all good - no issues at all.

My learning curve with the stand alone that I inherited was mostly about water temp. I installed a tankless water heater when I moved in and the only draw back (in an older house) is that fixtures 3 floors above take a bit of time to get the hot water. So I had a few really cold assbaths in those early months.
