In watching this team every night, I really wouldn’t be broken up by any one of them getting moved out. Some more then others. - landros 2
How about, he does not give a rat's butt anymore. CF basically said we do not want you and then went out proceeded to keep him. CF screwed that up in one the most abject failures by a GM of all time. Didn't CF's dad once bid against himself in a trade. If so, then GENES. |

Why would a coach suspend a player? It's up to the league to handle the situation and they will suspend him if they deem it necessary. - Phillywhiteout
You obviously havent watched any games this year.. Why would a coach "suspend" or bench him, Torts benches players like Oprah gave out prizes!!! You get a benching and you get a benching!!!
Anyone who thinks that wasnt that bad, hasnt played hockey before. You don't go for another players manhood. EVER!!! and if you believe that he didnt mean to get him there, your an idiot

Is there any reason to be playing Hart so much? Why not give the other goalies in the system nhl playing time? See what we have? Give them experience? Can't hurt our lottery chances either. |

as for the risto comment. what 4 goals were PP goals. he did have some nice defensive plays while he was pking. funny how he gets bashed daily and little to nothing is said about sanhiems struggles. |

A suspension and a coach benching a player are two completely different things. A suspension comes with a loss of salary. There is no precedent for a team suspending a player for something like this. |

Do any of the beats have the balls to ask Torts why only certain players get benched? Both Provorov and Risto were putrid last night, and it’s far from the first such night for either, but they never get sat.
It’s obvious, at least to me, that Tortorella plays favorites and he needs to be called out on it. - BiggE

You are the misguided one here. A coach can sit a player down in game if he chooses, but coaches and organizations do not suspend players for an on ice incident against the other team. Now, if Angelo had jabbed one of his own players that would be different, so I'd be careful using the word idiot if I were you. |

It was fun watching TDA get pummeled for sure. He just has a face you want to punch. I'd love to hear what was said in the locker room by his teammates.
What I didn't like was there wasn't much of a response to Farabee getting checked in the head. I think he was a bit hunched over but still, nothing guys? |

Agreed they need to get Sandstrom some games. He’s either an NHL backup or not, but you can’t play him every 6 weeks and expect him to succeed? I thought this year was about finding out who stays or who goes? |

Why would the Flyers suspend him? He did exactly what the Flyers want him to do.

Cost them a chance at the comeback? I didn't think they'd embrace the tank like that! |

I agree with the Farabee comment. But I do think they tried. Seeler I think challenged right away, but the Hagel was heading to the bench. Lemieux also got a fairly good run at him as well a few shifts later. Not much in a 1 or 2 goal game you can do “if” the guy won’t drop his gloves. That’s one that as a player you have to put it in your memory bank for another day. I do wish they had addressed it a little more as well.

Him and Lemieux have those type of faces and games. |

I imagine DeAngelo will be suspended by player safety for the cookie spearing incident. I really think the refs should have given 1 or 2 lightning players roughing penalties for retaliation, as that seemed over a line as well not to be penalized.

He only took 30 punches…lol. I thought the stripes had a poor night over all, but I don’t think it mattered with the outcome at all. |

Farabee exploded for an assist prior to being benched. So he's off the futility list. |

Did not watch the game. I did see the spear video. Could not have happened to a more deserving player.
If TA gets suspended I am fine with it. I think the five minute major was probably sufficient enough punishment though. |

I thought his game showed a glimmer of hope in the last couple of games. I was disappointed they sat him after a couple of penalties. |

I really don't care about the cup check to Perry. How many cup checks has that scumbag given out over his years in the league? And not been called? I'd put the over/under at 100 or more. So TDA may get a sussy... who cares? The only thing the Flyers have left to play for is draft position.
As I posted last night, when the game is on, I find it impossible to hope they lose. But, after the game, if they lose I'm not disappointed. And I agree with Torts on this. At least someone is showing some emotion out there, even if he's giving a little medicine to a guy that, given his own history, may be deserving of a little medicine. |
