I really don't care about the cup check to Perry. How many cup checks has that scumbag given out over his years in the league? And not been called? I'd put the over/under at 100 or more. So TDA may get a sussy... who cares? The only thing the Flyers have left to play for is draft position.
As I posted last night, when the game is on, I find it impossible to hope they lose. But, after the game, if they lose I'm not disappointed. And I agree with Torts on this. At least someone is showing some emotion out there, even if he's giving a little medicine to a guy that, given his own history, may be deserving of a little medicine. - Letterkenney

DeAngelo was jumped by 4 Lightning players, and his teammates did really nothing, that just shows everyone what even his own teammates thought about that spear. Laughton is the 1st player to drop them for a teammate and he literally watched Big Rig and another tackle him and Perry to throw his shot in when he is on ice..

I thought his game showed a glimmer of hope in the last couple of games. I was disappointed they sat him after a couple of penalties. - landros 2
Tortorella is a task master that comes with a short shelf life. He's perfect for a team that is close to winning as players can unite together in their hatred of him. Tortorella coaching a rudderless ship like the Flyers makes very little sense.

I just do not like what TA represents in terms of a player on the Flyers. He is another in a long line of players that the Flyers overpaid to acquire and should not have acquired to begin with if they were building properly. I would gladly take Ghost and the additional four draft picks.
That's why I really do not like Risto either. I do not want them on the team any longer. They are the result of gross mismanagement of my favorite team. There are a few other players you could add but those two are the worst examples.

It goes all the way back to preseason. He has played favorites from the very start and IMO it looks very arbitrary. - MBFlyerfan
Nobody would be on the ice if Torts really had to hammer down on benchings. |

Risto on the ice for all five goals against. - Tomahawk
Chris Pronger was once on the ice for all 6 goals in one playoff game against Chicago. If memory serves, the goalie didn’t trip over his own skates once in that game. |

Cost them a chance at the comeback? I didn't think they'd embrace the tank like that! - BulliesPhan87
You honestly think they had a chance for a comeback?
Answer this question then. When has a team EVER suspended its own player for an on-ice penalty against the other team?

Over 3/4 of this current roster won't be here when the team is competitive again. Certainly include DeAngelo in the gone category. What happened at the end of the game not that important to me. Regulation loss added, important. More losses is the only path to a change at Pres. of Hockey Ops and GM. That step has to take place before the roster can be improved. |

Will Fletcher get a raise and a promotion for changing the mood in the room by bringing in quality guys like Tony Richard-poker?
https://www.sportstalkphi...the-mood-in-the-room.html
“We just can’t keep bringing the same players back year after year and expect different results. We had to make changes this year,” Fletcher said. “The players that we’ve added are all what I would call high energy, competitive people. How often have we talked about our slow starts over the past two, three years since I’ve been here and allegedly a lot longer than that?
“We need some juice. We need some energy. We need to change the mood in the room and the energy in the room. It’s nothing against the players that we had here before. It’s about trying to create a new group, a new leadership group, new chemistry. All these guys we have acquired besides being good hockey players bring a lot of those qualities, bring a lot of experience, bring a lot of professionalism to our roster.” |

Easy bro, I never suggested the Flyers suspend him. I was kidding, but based on how they skated some of that PK in the offensive zone I think they had some gas in the tank, sure. I'm not excited to pump the W column, I just don't want losers on the roster who needlessly cost us games like this. |

Trying to rebuild through the draft is somewhat of a fruitless effort if you don’t have multiple good draft picks. Not having a second round pick in 2022 and again, so far, in 2023 is a bad signal for the current regime. Either rebuild or try to be competitive! This being caught in the middle didn’t work for Hexy and it ain’t gonna work for Fletch. |

I don't think the Flyers were gonna come back and tie the game before he took the penalty, but there was still a chance. Frost had just gone end to end and forced a good save, and we never even saw a replay of it because of the poopstorm Tony kicked off by spearing Perry in the nuts. If the coach actually cared about winning he would be trashing DeAngelo for putting himself before the team, but instead he's making excuses for his behavior. |

Just an awful game highlighted by our offseason scumbag acquisition, TDA. Chuck has assembled not only a team bereft of talent but also a really unlikeable team. Whenever we hit a new low, we seem to find another (oh hi Brendan). Thanks Chuck. |

The league will take care of that.
Hopefully it's an 18 game suspension and he never plays another game for the Flyers.

If you look at the vast amount of young talent a team like the Ottawa Senators, as an example, compiled through the draft and how they acquired it in a short amount of time, there’s somewhat of a blueprint for how it’s done. Their core is young and they’re only getting better as they now supplement their drafted core by trading away first round picks for established young players like DeBrincat and Chychrun.
When they decided to rebuild, from 2018 to 2021 inclusive, they picked seven times in the first round in those four drafts, they also picked eight times in the second round. The Flyers are fooling themselves and the fans if they continue to only pick once in the first round and nothing in the second round and expect to be successful through the draft.
Other than empty words I really don’t see them picking a direction yet. Yes there’s some good young talent in the organization, but it’s pretty thin. |

Try and be competitive 😂 this is what got us here man. They are fine, just keep losing and keep drafting, two first round picks next year. |

My point is, STOP wallowing in the middle, it’s no-man’s-land, time to start selling players like Detroit just did with that Hronek kid.
Sell TK, Sanheim, Farabee, Provy, etc. Get some draft picks and rebuild if you’re gonna rebuild. |

I’m totally on board with selling, on record saying TK and Provy should be shipped out this off season, they are two pieces that have some value. Hart as well. Potential for some disappointments in net coming out of this playoffs, make some calls. |
