I’m okay with losing and not have to watch Caleb Jones, but losing and Caleb Jones, sometimes it’s just not worth watching, tbh. - Angotti

I agree, Caleb with over 23 minutes tonight, hahaha
Ian Mitchel? He's just overmatched in this league right now. |

Thank you, DET!! Personally, I'm a bit worried as the Hawks look like a talent short group but play good structured hungry hockey with nothing to lose.
Stalock is a real problem for the tank. He's played well all yr but seems much less scrambly, is more quiet and efficient, relatively speaking, the last couple
.... Think he was sporting a .921 SPG coming into this tilt. Good by any measure but behind this team all yr that is an excellent mark.
At 26 6ft 195lb Bjork looks like a hungry hockey player with some speed. He played for the NTDP and in 2 WJC's so the 5th rounder has some back class but has never really put up points outside of jrs. ......
Some speed, hunger, decent size and back class he might be a useful bottom 6 guy for a couple yrs.
Edit: Bjork did put up nice numbers at Notre Dame. https://www.eliteprospect...layer/183809/anders-bjork |

Thanks, from everything I can see Basse has another year of eligibility so they could wait until next summer. Is it better to have him at Indy or do another year at St. Cloud?
Also curious about the Michigan Tech goalie:
https://www.eliteprospect...ayer/316108/blake-pietila
Those are some stellar numbers for a goalie in a major NCAA league. Not drafted so is a free agent after this year. Maybe too small so the interest isn't there. - totem
Piettela is a USHL kid. Maybe a fit in the ECHL? ...... Depending on if Basse and Commesso turn pro all the goalie spots on the NHL and AHL roster would be full with Basse probably relegated to the ECHL.
ANA up 1-nuttin over VAN a couple minutes in. |

I'll say this, the hungry speedy hockey this group is playing it's easy to watch 3 full periods. ... Despite being outshot by a large margin, again, they were in it until the very end. Stalock is killin the chances for Bedard/Fantilli/Cossack/Carlson. |

I don’t think Mitchell is going to be offered a contract next year. You have a car crash coming anyway with all the prospects already at Rockford, and with del Mastro, Kaiser, Allen being there next year.

He might have been a top prospect when the Hawks farm system was rated one of the worst, but the prospect pool (especially on defense) has really strengthened.

Well I know I am fulll Tank when I can root for the hated Wings .Good loss ,some of the young guys showing some glimpse of raw talent .Reichel Guttman. And Raddysh looks like a good pick up by KD ,Good on Kubalik helping out the old team . Time for a 4 or 5 game skid no loser points .. |

I believe if Chicago had the first overall, Stevie Yvwould offer Larkin and + something for the right to draft Bedard
Oh yeah, make it Raymond and Larkin
Tempting but Bedard is generational and I choose one Bedard over the other two |

Since Larkin last week signed an 8 year deal with a NTC, I don’t think Stevie Y is offering Larkin in any deal. |

That is so not tempting I would have to question my life long allegiant to the HAWKS if they made a trade like that . |

If the Hawks are lucky enough to get the first overall pick this year KD is drafting Bedard and will not trade the pick.
Look back at the 2015 draft. Would you have traded the 1st overall for Boston’s 3 picks? Even if you drafted Barzal, Connor and and Chabot? Not a chance. |

The sort of offers teams make for the first overall choice. I did say, no thank you, “no bueno” (no good).
BTW
Wondering about Holtz development. Disappointment maybe. But they would never trade him straight up for another disappointment - Mitchell. I don’t think Holtz is overmatched, just not quite ready Put him in the AHL for a year then see if like Reichel he is now ready. Mitchell I don’t know if he ever will be ready. Had high hopes for Mitchell but we all know not all prospects make the grade |

Looking ahead to next year....(mainly based on who is already signed)
Top Line Reichel, __________, ________
2nd Line T. Johnson, Kurashev, Raddysh
3rd Line D!ckinson, Bjork, Guttman
4th Line Katchouk, Blackwell, R. Johnson
Extra Forward Entwistle
Top Pair S.Jones, ________
2nd Pair Murphy, ________
3rd Pair __________, _________
Extra Dman Zaitsev
Goalie Mrazek
Goalie Soderblom or Stauber
KD fills in the remaining 6 slots with perhaps our #1 draft pick (Bedard? or Fantilli?), free agents (plenty of cap space), prospects (no reason to rush anyone).
Still a lottery team next year. |

For all his yappin’ about importance of draft capital, you’d have thought he’d have better asset management when he first took the reigns. Lots of missed draft capital |

I see Mitchell as a guy who's in over his head in the Show at this point. I know he's young, but I know from experience that when other guys can do everything you can do but are more physically mature and larger your career hits the brakes. Only a matter of time until his body pays the price. He could use more of a mean streak (think Keith), but I don't think he can back it up.

Kubalik? the guy who had his hot streak and had 26 points in his first 26 games, and since has 13 in 38? The guy who was healthy scratched, and plays 3rd/4th line minutes? Notice he didn't get moved by Stevie Y. like the other 4 he sold off on, probably because he is worth the same as last trade deadline - zero/zilch/nada.
Outside of the goal, do you (unless you were really watching because he was a Blackhawk) even know he was playing, outside of the passes he biffed and turnovers?

It would be more likely Yzerman would offer his first 4-5 picks for 2OA to take Fantili |
