And Danny Tartabull was really good in those 3 games he played for the Phillies.

Actually, he went 0-for-7. But I know what you're saying.

First 31 games this year: 7 points, -1

last 31 games: 23 points, +9

It's taking him a bit but the points are finally matching his play. Brind'amour and Samsonov have done a ton of work with him.

Brind'Amour my favorite NHL nose 👃

I have no issue taking a chance with a player but play him. Either on the Flyers or the Phantoms once he is eligible to be sent down. It's awful to just put a stop to a kids career with nothing to gain from it.

Yeah, this "no mans land" type of BS makes it seem personal.

And Brind'Amour will outcoach Torts by a healthy margin.

So letting Staal walk then?

They'll offer him a short term deal at a discount, but sounds like they're going to try and take Elias Lindholm from Calgary this summer so who knows.

They have a ton of space this summer but the year after is an issue.

Yeah, after he was waived and cleared the first time, he was sent to the Phantoms for 12 games and then recalled again. Torts did not dress him at all but the Flyers did not send him down despite being waiver exempt. He finally dressed in the final game before the ASB because the Flyers lost two forwards to injury in the Minnesota game.

The Flyers still could have sent Bellows to the Phantoms without waivers for a few days during their long schedule hiatus, but elected instead to allow the waiver exemption clock to run out and kept him on NHL roster.

He was subsequently waived again.... and cleared again. He could have been paper moved to the Phantoms on Clear Day (last Friday) to be eligible for the Calder Cup playoffs but that didn't happen unless I missed the announcement.

So he's in a perpetual healthy scratch state until this summer when the Flyers will clearly not tender him an RFA qualifying offer and he'll be turned loose as a UFA.

I feel for Bellows here. He has AHL feet, unfortunately, but he can certainly help the Phantoms even if Torts determined quickly he wasn't going to be part of the NHL lineup. Not saying Torts was wrong in that assessment. But there seems to be a bit of tug-of-war here: Torts won't play him and the org won't send him down again.

I have no other explanation for why Bellows never went back to the Phantoms despite dressing only as a last resort.

You could have saved yourself some time and just said the organization is incompetent.

he still loves you guys too.

He's really open about how hard that trade was and how awful it was coming to Carolina and the situation the team was in at the time. But decided he could either just ride it out and bolt ASAP or do his damnedest to help make something of the franchise. Glad he went the latter route.

I still say if he's ever done coaching in Raleigh the only other team he'd ever consider joining is the Flyers.

Seems like it's been that kind of season for Felix. Seems like most of his starts have been on the back end of back to backs.

Although tonight is not a back-to-back (they last played Tuesday), they will still be hardpressed to be competitive. Agree with other poster, likely to see at least 1 Ghost goal.

He's supposedly a goal scorer and the team is starved for goals. That's probably as much consideration as they put into the acquisition. Makes you really wonder about the pro scouts... like could they really not notice the guy had cement feet or did Chuck just ignore them? Either way, it's so Flyers.
- Tomahawk

Which is why it made no sense when there were rumors about taking on other teams' reclamation projects at the deadline like say, Gurianov. I know there were at least legs to that rumor that they tried to swap JVR for him. They have a reclamation project on their team, former first rounder fell out of favor with his club. They've chose to healthy scratch him over and over and play 11F 7D instead. I have zero faith this organization as it is currently run could turn around anyone's career.

I hold hope Foerster will be a good pick. I hold hope Frost and Cates will be solid middle 6 players. I have hope Tippett is the real deal. I have hope Carter and Errson will be a good duo and if they are not we still have 2 real good prospects. I hold hope Cutter is a first line player. I could go on, all we have is hope. I mean just the law of averages, CF has done everything so badly, he is has to be a good drafter? Right? Just tell me I am right.

What are referring too when you say you hope Tippet is the real deal? Real deal in terms of what?

Even if all those scenarios play out in the Flyers favor, they are still way behind many teams in their conference.
