Is he out completely or just as GM? - furio16
Sounds like GM and President, whether he gets another role...not sure. Smart move is to do a flushing.

“Chuck faced significant challenges during his time as president and general manager, including some that were outside of his control, but we have reached a point at which we must move in a different direction and look to the future under new leadership,” Scott said.

Also, why not do this three weeks ago so Danny could have a chance to make an impression? - mickel25
Because Chuck wasn’t willing to give up his trusted “trade app”. How could Danny have made any moves on TDL day without that? |

Yeah. Honestly they played terribly last night.
They also shoot a TON from the point, which is kind of what Torts wants teams to do against him I guess. - BINGO!
There's always going to be games like that. Playing against a low level opponent in a long season. Hard to get fired up for game like that. They still dominated the puck and their speed and skill were very evident. I'm very jealous of watching a team play a modern style of hockey with strong puck support and systems that create speed and attack time. Versus watching our team play under an archaic coach that wants to sit back and block shots. |

This morning, we released Chuck Fletcher from his president and general manager responsibilities. We are grateful for his hard work and dedication to this organization, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.” |

Let's see what other moves are happening first. We all know Dave Scott doesn't have the gumption or fortitude to do what it takes, so this most likely does next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. |

Somebody's going to hire him soon. You probably don't want his fingerprints all over ANOTHER team in the Metro. - BINGO!
For sure, I just have zero faith the Flyers will be the ones hiring him. |

Canes beat guys are convinced that somebody is going to hire Tulsky away soon.
Dude IS a Flyers fan... if you want someone to rebuild the front office and the way the team does things, there's nobody better. - BINGO!
I'm in!

Chuck's new role with the organ-I-zation is Clarke's caddy & ball washer.

Congrats Danny. But unless Flahr, Clarke, Lombardi, Barber, Holmgren and Brown are also being booted, not a damn thing will change.

In the release, Scott revealed that the organization will be splitting up the general manager and president of hockey operations roles into two separate hires going forward. For now, Brière will occupy both positions.
“He is ideally suited for this role, having served as special assistant to the general manager of the Flyers for the past year in addition to his more than 25 years in professional hockey as a player and in management,” Scott said of Brière. “He will ensure a smooth transition following Chuck’s departure and support the team and coach John Tortorella through the remainder of the season and into the offseason.”
Bill Barber's gonna get the Presidency, isn't he? |

Fired as GM AND president of Hockey Op’s? Does he have another title? In this organization who knows. - landros 2 Good first step. Now lets see what the 2md step is goign forward.
As far as Briere, he will have zero impact the rest of the way. Not much for him to do. Just a comedy of errors this wasn't done weeks/months ago.
I have to guess that Roberts or someone got involved. Seeing all the embarrassment and what not that s happening.
