Or I just wanted the move conversation on. Instead of being chastised about the moves that were made

If read my comment to the 5x5 post, the last sentence was in essence to do the same

They made a decision. We know one of the two big boys were coming. I wanted Lafferty and possible McCabe, we knew Gavrikov wasn’t happening. Orlov and Hathaway also would have been nice. But this is where they are and they need too find a way to make it work
- airjan23

They weren’t bringing in salary next season tho. Jeannot was the one to get imo but he cost a fortune. And we forget how little they gave up for the two RWs apparently

Would like to see Igor back in net all weekend! He needs to work on what ever is making him let in suspect goals early on in a game. His mental side needs work and he can get that with more work. The thing I'm most afraid of come playoffs, are we tough enough? How will lead the charge for finishing checks? Kreider was throwing some good checks but its never consistent. Hoping we can start stringing together a few wins! LGR!!!!!

Fox clearly misses Lindgren, but shouldn't a Norris Trophy winner be better than he has been regardless of pairing?
Not saying Mikkola is Lindgren or even a first pair D. I get that Fox has to make up for that, but he hasn't been good lately.

I don't think anyone underestimates what Lindgren brings to the lineup. He should definitely be re-signed, problem will be with the term. His body might not last through the contract.

Being a Norris trophy winner is really about offense. I think Fox gets a bit too much credit for his defense. Hes not really that great a defender. Lindgren has been playing with him so long that he anticipates for Fox’s faults so we dont really notice it. Theyre the perfect pair for each other.

Fox cant be compared to Leetch in that sense because as good as Leetch was offensively, he was great at cutting angle and corners to disrupt plays.

When was the last time a Norris trophy winner got it for their elite defensive play and not their offense?

Hedman in 2018 while he was very good offensively I’m pretty sure he won that award because of how good he was defensively. I could be mistaken though.

This smacks of argumentative recency bias. Essentially, from the moment he's been here, Fox has been consistently dependable and periodically brilliant on defense. We've seen him break up tons of plays, 2 on 1's, 3 on 1's, etc...
He may have had warts this season at times, but that is not who he has been for 4 years.

Im not saying hes a terrible defender, yes he makes good plays, Im just saying… maybe hes not as good a defender as we make him out to be. To put it like this, I think some believe hes an A defender. IMO, if offensively hes A/A+ (only cause Makar sets the bar for A+ dman scoring), Id say defensively hes a B/B+, which isnt bad, just saying I dont feel hes an A level dman.

Game day boys...

Im alittle worried playing the Sabres, they just got stomped by Dallas so theyll want to come out guns blazing. Really hope Lindgren is ready to go for this game, were gonna need him.

Adam Fox is an undeniable top 5 defenseman in the NHL. Stop nitpicking!

When Karlsson was on the Senators, was he the #1 defenseman in the league?

I responded to your silly post. LOOK at the last words of your previous post:

Stop being antagonistic! ENJOY how good he is!
NOBODY here cares about Karlsson when he was with the Senators...

That was me miswriting what I meant to say which was I dont feel hes an A defensively.

Yea fine, nobody cares about Karlsson but the point Im making here is he won Norris' and was horrible defensively. Fox is no where near as bad as he is, but he loves having the puck on his stick and make passes just like Panarin and Kane so blunders will happen, especially when youre playing 25-30 minutes a game.
