Do you think Hextall, if given another year or two, would have been able to take the team to the next level? I’m not sure if he would have been able to or not, but he set the team up much better for the next GM than Fletcher has done for Briere or whoever gets the position permanently. I go back and forth if Hextall was the guy to finish the plan if he had been given a blank check on time. I guess we will never know.

Don't know. There was nothing in what he did that showed that he would be able to build the team to true contention. I do know the expectations of the fans and the organization in terms of time frame was completely unrealistic.
