I dont know about years. I think a solid goalie and maybe a D upgrade and they could be a wild card. Or maybe its just defensively responsible forwards? I honestly don't know these are just my guesses from what I see.

Which by the way, why does the NHL only have us play 3 games? We deserve at least 4.

This team needs 2 more NHL Defenseman and 1 needs to be a top 3.

Tighten up the loose play. Leafs D & in goal can let you back into the game. Just find the spark. No easy task to beat them but doable.
