Are there any good officials, outside Stripes, anymore?
I could 7 points we have lost, in 2023 alone, that were due to missed or bad calls. The Islanders goal I don't put on officiating either as they got it right. That'd make 9 total though...

Maybe are GM should have actually went out and got someone that helped. Maybe instead of blaming goalie's that we know need help. Maybe are GM should have tried a bit harder to improve certain area's that have been weak since he got here. - Buff36
I told you that wasn't going to happen , there was not going to be any big or huge move(s) just like I said and he wouldn't give up Savoie +++ for Chick man.

Meh, blaming the officials for the Sabres sucking in major spots is a cop out.
Every teams fan base thinks they get screwed by the refs which means really no one is getting screwed.

I know that, are Goalie situation and D situation go back farther than just this year. Damn the year he waited Ullmark out to see him leave in FA anyways atleast 6 to 8 Goalie's moved that year. Yes are goaltending is bad, but that's been known for atleast 3yrs.

I didn't say anything about the Goaltending, don't expect it to change much if not at all.

I don't expect much, why would anyone. And Goaltending was the reason the whole conversation started with Greenway. Are Goaltending is bad, everyone knows it, but I am done blaming them when your Defensive system sucks and you really haven't done anything to help it.

UPL constantly over commits and has to go into scramble mode constantly. It does not work well for him.
How many times have we seen a guy go wide near the net and UPL will follow him u til he’s completely out of the crease and beside the jet and has to scramble to get back in.
So, what we're saying is, Vic isn't the reason we consistently let bad goals in?
UPL has so many games with two decent periods and one disaster. He does not seem to really have gotten better. He is just as wildly inconsistent as he has always been.

I'm not sold on UPL but I think he's better than bad. I still have some hope that if you give him some time and fix the defense (don't allow 40 shots and 15 scoring chances per night) he will be fine. Comrie sucks and Andy is a dice roll on any given night now, but UPL might have something methinks.

Yeah, and I saw him make plenty of good saves last night to. Are Goaltending is bad. OK well then let's try and cut down from giving up 35 shots a game to 30 or 25 and maybe a week goal doesn't happen. Hey let's cut down on the 30 high danger shots we give up to say 20 a game, maybe that's 1 less goal scored. Ways to help a weak spot, but you have to try to do it.

I agree with this. He might not be a stud but he's a serviceable goalie at the NHL level with room to grow. Is he my preferred option? No. Do we have a better option? No. Anderson looks like poop just as often imo. Our defensive play has been awful all year. Maybe they thought Greenway could help in that regard, but it's been futile to this point and we didn't add available options that could have helped more. So we are stuck with what we have and the team needs to play better in front of him for us to keep winning.
Regarding the refs, I see complaints but that call on Ovie at the end was pretty weak too. Tuch shouldn't have washed that guys face right after that in front of a ref. Yea, they make some bad calls, miss some good calls, but it goes both ways and generally evens out throughout the year. It's part of the sport and it's not going to change until our robot overlords are fully in control.

Good Post!!
Didn't like the Stillman call last night, especially after just 30 seconds before that you watched Skinner get driven into the back of the net.
You’re tilting at windmills, my friend. Maybe one guy is blaming Greenway for the loss. The rest of us are just stating what has been obviously true so far. With the exception of one game, he’s been unnoticeable and a huge disappointment. I definitely don’t think anyone wants him to be as bad as he has been. - SoCalPucks
Perhaps a poster fears greenway as a replacement, maybe he/she wants them to be worse then a current favorite sabre?
Agree to disagree. Officiating in general has taken a big hit in recent years but that was brutal. - QuinnFan
Completely agree 👍
Anyone thinking the reffing has been equally bad for all teams recently , is the type of guy that wants a 4 time nfl mvp to sign with the Bill's division rival.
Some people just aren't aware of their surroundings.

I feel like Skinner hasn't done himself any favors with all the chirping he does toward the refs. Seems like he's not getting as many call this year. Stripes, you think there's anything to that?
