Well they’d have to anyways if they’re moving out 8 mil in salary.
Mitts is the guy who’s moved around the whole lineup, and unless people think Quinn and JJ will never struggle again at 20/21 years old, they will need another skill guy who can play a role offensively - sbroads24
There will always be Ben Bishops available. Until ownership actually invests in the organization, I'm skeptical
He’s firmly been deployed as a top 6 forward and has been on the PP the entire year.
I think this is just boiling down to you not liking him so you want him traded. Because early in the year he was apparently a liability therefore they needed to get rid of him. Now he’s too good to be a 3rd liner therefore he and his agent will want the trade? You’re just finding any reason now.
Which is fine, I’m finding reasons for him to stay. - sbroads24
I have no issue with him. I grill the Mitts-VO duo for obvious reason, but you wouldn't have to look too far to find me suggesting VO was the issue.
This is all about reading the situation, with 4 KA 1st rounders coming + Quinn and JJ already here. I also don't think Mitts is ready to accept a bottom 6 roll and the contract that goes along with that.
If they suddenly change course, and extend Mitts + move multiple prospects out, I won't have a problem with it. With everything they've done and said, it would surprise me.

That's the crux of the matter. They have one prime piece coming to a lacking defense versus 4 prime pieces coming to a full forward lineup

I honestly have no idea how he personally feels but I don’t think we’re at that point yet. Still has two years of team control and he’s getting good ice time.
If it were 365 days from now in this exact same situation, I’d probably agree with you

Do you feel like mitts is selfishly different in not accepting the 3rd line role?
Or is it more of a points/ contract comparison , not so much the player. Not be happy as a 3rd liner....

They can, and probably will, kick the can another year. I know never to bet on KA actively making moves when he doesn't need to. If a good opportunity presents itself, timing is good to take it this summer.
It's a contract year. I do think his role next year is significant. If the kept him with Cozens for the rest of the year, I'd have a different feeling. As a 3LW, the days just feel numbered.
Skinner Tage Tuch
Kulich Cozens Quinn
JJ Krebs Savoie
Nadeau ? Rousek
Can Mitts take 3C and that drops Krebs to 4C. Gonna get very interesting in 2yrs.

It’s hard to read what KA will do this summer
Granato on GR yesterday talked about how they are an offensive team and scoring is what they focus on and that they value scoring the first goal in every game they play.
So they might want to make sure they have a ton of depth at forward and as much offense as possible.
They also might value his draft picks sooner than I expect and he’s moved. Just hard to tell

I think he should want a better opportunity and could find that somewhere else. Not an indictment on him at all.

Were talking contracts
How could you say kyvynv is a can kicker in regards to contracts?
Exact opposite in regards to samuelsson, tage and cozens.
