If one or both are moved this offseason I think they did a very good job of showcasing and making them valuable pieces. Because based on playing time for both and how Granato talks, you’d think they’re guys they view as part of the plan.
Personally I want them to either move Samuelsson down to 3rd LD and get a top RD for Dahlin, or move Joker and get Power a partner.
The Power/Joker pair is something that could definitely be upgraded, but it also doesn’t hurt them. - sbroads24
This is really solid.
It's hard to tell with both mitts and joker if they are the future or just showcasing them.
I've always thought management really likes mitts, just seems obvious for some reason. Maybe it's just coach speak and pushing for a better asset?
Definitely gives me a different angle to consider. 👍 |

Joker almost the same topic as Mitts. Don't hate him, but don't want him in my top 4.

Nothing remotely progressive about the Tage or Cozens deal. Bridge then extend. Sign a #7 pick to a long term deal off his ELC. These are normal things.
Samuelsson was outside the box. No issue with the deal, might look good in a few years, might not.
Joker and Mitts are different. Can make a decision and get ahead of things early this summer, or wait. The decision isn't obvious on them.
36 keeps saying it: decision time is coming. They can't keep everyone and a point might come where they can't pay everyone. - Lunaion
What do you mean there’s nothing “progressive” about their contracts? What a weird adjective for the context. Tage’s contract is an absolute bargain, and Cozens is probably market rate.

Tuch owes the Sabres a big game tonight for that stupid penalty. Tage due for a big game. Longest goal drought of the season for him. |

If you want to upgrade your D, and you won't move prospects, he's their best chip.
If they see him as 3LW, he's expendable. - Lunaion
How are Skinner and Peterka also expendable? |

So it's 2024-25 Season Give me your Roster purely on Draft Picks or current roster players:
Skinner Tage Tuch
Kulich Cozens Quinn
JJ Krebs Savoie
Nadeau Jost Rousek
Ostlund has 2yrs left on his contract, I would expect him at 3C and drop Krebs to 4C at the proper time
Samuelsson Dahlin Goalies: Levi, UPL
Power Reinbacher
Johnson Joker |

Were talking contracts
How could you say kyvynv is a can kicker in regards to contracts?
Exact opposite in regards to samuelsson, tage and cozens.
The guy is making some really good decisions. IMO

Is the Samuelsson contract a good decision?
Seems early to be calling it that. |

You're using hindsight on the Tage deal.
You're not new here.
Remember the thought when the Tage deal was actually signed?
Many, many here and nationally thought it was a potentially risky deal with the one good season Tage had.
Very easy to say now, but not remotely easy to say when the deal was signed. |

Could see him being traded in a couple years, Samuelsson is a injury waiting to happen unfortunately it seems. Buffalo needs to get a Top 3 D |

Hmph.... the thread has come to posts about the roster two seasons from now. Hockey Heaven.
In the words of Space Balls:
"When will then be now?" |

Surely seems they are building that way, and if they are then IMO it will be a few years then. |

I may be incorrect here, but it sounds like you are ridiculing Adams' decision.
I would hope it would be viewed as this GM made one of the best decisions in the league in years...using an analytical approach with a solid projection model.
All things we want in a GM.

of course there were.
ATW had a whole show about the difference of opinion.
Now Craig gets to rub it in Andrew's face.

Tage's deal is considered a bargain now.
When it was signed, it was not, and many thought it carried a lot of risk.
That is all. |

It’s not icing if it goes on goal/goalie plays the puck. Goalie should’ve actually held on to the puck until the whistle. - Ratsreign
They waved it early when the Sens d man buried the Avs player a few strides in the Avs blue line when he was trying to play the puck. Which is the correct call.
Dunno why they didn’t blow the whistle though. |

Think they need to have a Training Camp for these Officials, they have been bad this year. |

Puck was still visible. Whistle didn't blow. It's on the goalie imo. Saying this as a goalie myself, I'd be pretty pissed if they didn't blow the whistle in that situation, but as an objective observer I can kind of see that the puck was still visible. |

None of the Russians in your line-up or Rosen? Some of these kids need to get moved out. I just don't see the path for them at this point.
