Facts
Since the Allstar Break, when teams get very serious for the PO race, Olofsson has:
▪︎ 3G's, all potted in garbage time
▪︎ is a-16!!!
"Informed opinion" - Olo is breaking the myth by potting 2G last night
"Uninformed" opinion...he sucks and is killing the team on every line he plays on, getting minutes on 3rd and playing against lesser opponents he is getting burried.
Check this string out...
03/17 vs Flyers...2G; 1st G when score was 4-0 early in 3rd, the 2nd with 1 second left with score 5-1. -1 for the game
03/15 vs Caps...Healthy scratch. Probably his best production in several games.
03/13 vs Leaves...Healthy scratch.
03/11 vs Rags...0G and 0+/-
03/09 vs Stars...1G and -1, his goal scored at 12:31 of 3rd with the game score at 9-3
I would like to see Rousek, Biro, Kulich given a few games. Like to see if Kulich Cozens Quinn could gain some steam. Maybe even Mitts Krebs JJ - Buff36
Probably another week or so before we see some call ups I would imagine.

The Buffalo Sabres are now a -1 goal differential on this successful season. - lacaprup
3 step process:
I) change the system to become more defensively responsible. Granato has openly stated that with a young team, growing the confidence in scoring is critical to individual players long term success in the league. While there will be more kids brought in, those already here should be expected to round out their own game to help overcome the gaffs to be expected of the newbies.
II) upgrade 3 critical positions
1- a RhD for the top 4
2 - a 3rd pair LhD
3 - Goalie
III) Trade out leaches draining this team by playing a poopty game
▪︎ Olofsson
▪︎ Bryson
Did you know that Olofsson and Bryson combine for horrific possession stats and have -46 on the +/- scale.
Note: Krebs needs to up his game being a -10 himself.

Good Post!! Might say that D should be Top 3 with the injury issues with Samuelsson.
I know the Forward Depth in this Draft is very deep. But the Sabres could be picking around 10 and there's gonna be a couple D right there in Reinbacher and Pellikka that could set your Top 4 nicely.

Now do Tage Thompson since the all star break.
Lol at cherry picking a notoriously streaky players worst streak. Victor Olofsson is paid to score goals and nothing else. He has 26.
Victor Olofsson does not kill penalties, yet we have a bottom feeder pk.
Victor Olofsson does not play goalie, yet we have bottom feeder net minding.
I agree, he's a surplus soft forward. We have lots of them. That's not his fault.
Fix the team build and the Sabres are better. That may very well be sending Vic out, and January/February he would have gotten a lot.
Victor Olofsson is, in fact, one of few reasons the playoff race made it to February. He's also one of the reasons it went away. He is who he is, and he certainly isn't to blame for the Sabres missing the playoffs. The build of the Buffalo Sabres is the reason this is year 12.

Lol, you must be exhausted with those mental gymnastics.
You fail to recognize the context of your or8ginal post that you love it when an uninformed narrative is broken and referenced Olo solely, proclaiming his 2 G's were evidence.
All 3 goals were meaningless through the duration of meaningful games being played since the Allstar Break.
YOU do the analysis back wards to October and you will learn what all Informed posters know. He is a drain on the team rather than a player contributing meaningful production.
I never said a dang thing in my post about the other prominent issues with the team...those cited by you above are deflection and non-central to your original post.
Moving along, like your favorite player will be too...maybe he can pot another 30 points in garbage time to draw even on the season and up his trade value from negative to slightly positive.

All of these posts speak to a phony year long narrative. Vic's two goals yesterday are simply evidence he's a streaky goal scorer. Take him off the team and the record isn't improving unless the makeup of the roster changes drastically. He's draining NOTHING from the 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres. There would not have been the two meaningful games in March without him. End of story.
And, if they didn't trade him in Jan/Feb when he could have easily gotten a servicable defenseman or a hell of a D prospect, why would they trade him now for a 3rd?

There could have been more meaningful games in March if he had shown up for more than 25gms to.

If we are picking top 10 no way we draft either of those. I am all for getting a defenseman but we could be picking 7-8. Someone like Benson is on the board no way in hell you are passing on him. 3rd in scoring ahead of Savoie

I like Reinbacher profile better, but haven't watched video of these guys yet. I'd take either myself.
Would not be surprised to see them snag Matthew Wood though, if they somehow got into that 17th-ish spot...which now seems highly unlikely...s/b around 10th-13th
David Reinbacher's Player Profile
Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Dec. 19th: "The young Austrian can defend the rush fairly well, using his long stick and frame to close out along the boards, but the consistency isn’t there quite enough. The projection of Reinbacher’s game comes from having faith in his raw tools and skill."
Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Dec. 14th: "Playing in all situations against men, and having plenty of success on both sides of the puck."
Corey Pronman - The Athletic - Nov. 15th: "He’s a mobile, 6-foot-2 right-shot defenseman who can contribute at both ends. Reinbacher’s gap control is strong, killing a lot of plays due to his feet and reach even if he’s not overly physical."
Tough to say because players will fall but I like Reinbacher over ASP. You could trade back to 25 even though these types of trades never happen and take Simashev but he looks like a bit of a project.
Simashev could be there in the second round, he looks pretty raw but I like his game.
