Watched greenway his 1st game as a Sabres in buff. He is brutal. Think Brett murray basically.
Very little skill, Skates with concrete blocks, and hits a little bit. Doesn’t do much else |

Pasta skated into Greenway and initiated contact. It was like he hit a brick wall. Greenway would never have hit him if Pasta didn't literally skate into Greenway.
Thisis what I don't get. The guy can obviously wreck someone if he wants to. I don't see any want to. |

Granato is a development coach, AHL level or lower. He gets way too much credit for moving Tage (a 6’6 monster with slick hands) to center the top line. That’s about all he’s done. We need a real, winning, hard nosed coach. If the Blues are stupid enough to can Berube, that’s our guy - lulags
Sorry, but this is complete BS.
He has major faults for sure, especially his in-game coaching tactics...again a major fault so no one misconstrues my point. He needs to round that portion of his talents ... can he do it? I have serious questions myself.
He is a fantastic developer of young talent which this team sorely needed, and he has certain flaws including his current system which is devoid of D. He has stated that "flaw" is by design as it is Offensively focused at the expensive of defense to build the young guys confidence in their offensive talents. The next phase is to build out the Defensive side of their game.
Those are his words, not mine.
I am certainly willing to give him the chance next season to take the team to the next level.
If he isn't capable, time to move along IMO. The Sabres however are likely to give him at least 2. |

A coaching change should be considered. A coach who can motivate and teach team to play defence. Im sick of hearing about teaching moments. This team is painful to watch. - pwasil7
Ralphy tried to teach defence and tried to make players accountable. Skinner is a joke and Ralph saw through the crap. Say what you want about him but at least he had balls. Donnie and KA are both following a bad owner and eventually they won't have any fans left to cheat. |

So Skinner's to blame and Ralph is a good coach now?

Skinner's arguably out most consistent player all season.
UPL is the most consistent. |

Understand, but don't come out and say you are willing and then don't do it. Especially when a couple of the deals could have added assets for eating some cash until the end ot the year. - Buff36
These guys all "coach speak".
I'm not sure if we need to spend extra $ from a business standpoint.
The extra picks generally aren't higher values picks right? |

I agree with all of this, but he needs to surround himself with better assistant coaches than Matt Ellis and whoever the idiot is who coaches the defence and PK.
It’s easily to blame the personnel, but it doesn’t give him an excuse to not put the best lineups out there day in and day out. |

Well Ralph doesn't coach anymore cause he's a bad coach but I'll repeat, he had balls and stuck by his ideas as bad as they may have been.
Skinner is not a player I would say is willing to do what it takes to win. Carolina couldn't wait to get rid of him and it would appear they don't miss him and never did.

The least physical team in the NHL getting man handled down the playoff homestretch.
Isn't that a shocker. |

If we threw 10 more hits does that mean UPL is allowed to make a save ?
2-7-2 in the last 11 and Stuart Skinner, Shesterkin stole two of those from Buffalo and our goaltending has costed us 2 or 3 as well (Washington off the top of my head).

The difference between this years Sabres and those teams of the last 5 years? They can score a ton of goals.............. They are likely the worst team in the NHL defensively and in goal....... They are gutless with no will to win..... I guess thats progress |

I love when you people blame Skinner..... NOBODY on this team has shown up... That includes the golden boys Tuch and Thompson..... This team is a decade away from the playoffs being led by a coach who should be fired for allowing his team to fold like a cheap tent in a hurricane when the games really mattered...

Right, and half those players are nowhere close to their peak.
Power, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Cozens, have another gear or two.
There are holes on the roster, but it’s not as bad as the last few weeks of hockey indicates |
