So any coach taking over from Q was doomed - LAHawk
Simple competence would have been significantly better than what JC brought to the table. |

Im interested what other Cast-off's he can mine from other teams this summer and at the draft. Players that might not fit in other systems but given a chance here can really shine! - SaskHawkFan

Oh the ghost
Alright then
Drouin seems more a Bowman resurrection claim |

Outside of literally not icing a team, what else do you want them to (not) do? FFS, Entwistle-Hardman-Robinson was a fricking line. Their best forward is either Lukas Reichel or Taylor Raddysh. Outside of making Mrazek play injured, how would you propose they try HARDER to lose? - Chunk
Hahaha hahaha, so true
Maybe start Khudobin next game
I think they are actually having fun out there, got to like a coach who says if you make a mistake i prefer it to be an aggressive one. |

“Fake” injuries before game time to both goalies then play the EBUG….
If that still doesn’t work, pull the goalie and play 6 on 5.
Exhale…..

Hard to believe how lucky the Hawks have been since the deadline. They haven't really played that well, but the puck has been going their way and the goaltending has been super solid. It's fun to watch and the team is working hard. |

This so diminishes their effort on the ice. They are working their arses off. |

Depends on how LR feels about Drouin after coaching him in Montreal.

Gotta say, that was a textbook effort/execution goal that Anderson scored last game. |

a pick at 6 will still bring an impact player. depending on who falls or raises we could end up with Zack Bensen, Ryan Leonard, Will Smith or if we get really lucky Mitchov. Maybe not Bedard but still really really good prospects. - SaskHawkFan
The rebuild isn’t hinged on Bedard. He’s the top prize, but there are several prospects that can make a major impact on the Hawks future. I’d be more than happy with any one of Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson, Benson or Smith. There may be more that I’m not as familiar with too. |

Everyone (me included) thought the Hawks would go from bad to worse. In the last 31 games the Hawks are 16-15. The previous 37 they were 8-29 ( I counted a tie as a loss). Maybe we should redirect our energy to the improvement of the guys that are here, instead of concentrating on hoping they improve with one draft choice.
And Dots is right, the Hawks have a ton of draft capital (and cap space capital). Also they now have rated a top 10'sh pipeline, and 3 #1's from last year that they didn't have the day before draft day.
That being said, Blue Jackets/Ducks tonight, hope for a 3 point game |

Totally Agree. Any of the ones you listed will be a really nice piece of the puzzle. Bedard would be really nice but this draft is really deep. Last year any of the ones you listed could have gone #1 |

So you would of been OK with keeping ADB, Dach, having no cap space to make deals (Mrazek and a first), and having zero first round draft choices last year.
The jettison of the above was yes about the race to the bottom for the Bedard sweepstakes, but also to start filling the pipeline last year. How much better do you think the team would of been if KD would of just made changes on the periphery? Funny if they draft 6th like they finished last year (with the draft pick being Columbuses). - LAHawk
I think this also has to do with the teams playing for Bedard also playing worse. Huge prize at the end so everybody really depleted their line-ups to vie for the top prize. Last year's draft was so-so from what I understand. That said the Sharks and Columbus' goaltending is horrendous. The Hawks have had strong goaltending down this stretch of wins. In any event, it's always great to beat the Preds especially with them chasing a playoff spot. |

Will be interesting to see how KD fills out the roster next year. Even with $5 mil. in dead cap space, they still need $20 mil in additional salary to reach the floor. Kurashev, C. Jones, Mitchell, Anderson, Bjork, Wagner, even if you sign them all (highly doubtful) as RFA's you are probably looking at most $8.5 mil.
That is 14 forwards, 5 defenseman and a goalie signed. Leaves 2 defenseman and a goalie for the remaining $11.5, plus having a forward go to Rockford. |

Sounds like Domi will back, won't be surprised this time it'll be for a 3 or 4 year contract.
Probably sign AA for another year |

I just ran the Tankathon SIM 4 times: 1st, 5th, 5th, 1st
Don't sleep on Montreal passing the Hawks, I saw parts of the 1st period last night against FLA on NHL Network. The gave up a record tying 7 1st period goals. Goaltending was awful, and the players looked like they had no idea who they should cover in any zone. |

And Dach has been injured the past month. Seems like neither of the Dach brothers can stay healthy. How many times has Colton been out of the line-up this year?

Instead of getting the 1st pick I'd rather have Ottawa pick stay around 40 something, Bolts lose in the first round so that improves our 1st and 2nd round pick from them this year and the Rangers make it to the eastern conference finals so we can have an extra 1st round pick next year, or the year after
