Or are they buying a fake identity from a dodgy guy in an alley somewhere? - AusHawk

It has been fun hockey to watch. I look forward to what LR can do in a few years when some of our picks start to mature. |

Kyle E. Coyote blew it up to catch the Roadrunner (Bedard).

Bedard or not, I like where this is headed so far. Nice win. |

Bedard would be the prize but after reading up on the top 7 prospects i think we can have a really nice building block in the 2-7 range. |

Nobody will know for a while if they have a good GM, but they got a coach for sure. |

I hope he turns out. I like the depth we have on the back end. Fun foot note he was drafted with the pick acquired for Gus from Calgary. Stan may have actually hit on here.

He sure has each guy understanding his role and playing hard and, in allot of cases, smart. |

Great win - still hoping it goes South for a month
Bedard would look great in a Hawk Jersey |

Well that's just wonderful. .It is nice to see the young players coming into their own a bit under the tutelage of Luke Richardson and his staff. Been thinking #14 been playing better lately nice too see him and Raddysh have big nights . KD maybe really pulled one off on TB with these two guys . Beating the Bruins this year is a big accomplishment for any team let alone this gang .Good Win tonight well deserved
Well SJ keeping it close ,maybe we can still salvage something from this . Hope for a 3 point game with Clb winning . |

Perfect situation….. Hawks win a few more games the rest of the year, do not finish in the bottom 3, and still win the lottery. |

Yes jury still out on GM, although getting a good coach is a big step.
So for GM (just thinking out loud here):
1. Get hired and sell management on your plan (total rebuild in this case) so they will be patient and let you execute it.
2. Blow it up and get tons of futures (and a few decent players to fill current spots).
3. Find and hire the right head coach.
4. Make the right draft picks, and sign free agents to fill in and flip at deadline.
5. Add good players (Draft, UDFA, FA, etc.). Improve every year until you are in the playoffs.
6. Trade the right assets to boost you into contention, and eventually, to the top.
7. Do all this and set the org up to be competitive every year (right mix of prospects coming in, FA, trades, etc.)
So for Davidson:
1. Done
2. Done - looks good so far
3. Done - looks good so far
4. Next up - hope all the pro and amateur scouts are getting it right.
5-7 is the even bigger challenge and is TBD.
I joked about him being Kyle E. Coyote earlier, but I have to say his track looks good so far. He is crossing the desert but has to climb the mountain after. |

Well all ends not to bad with CLB pulling out the OT victory .And the HAWKS get a very satisfying victory . . |

Since the Blackhawks just signed Kaiser, let's hope the hype train doesn't roar out of the station like the Ian Mitchell draft/signing... |

Do you mean we shouldn’t expect Kaiser to be Keith 2.0? |

Bettman kind of opened up that idea when he said something to the fact that teams that tank will not win the lottery.

outside of singing guys on 1 year deals. Or try and trade guys on Expiring contracts. TJ, JD, Zaitsev. we only have 2 retention spots so that will really limit any of there value. also a issue with guys we sign on 1 year deals.
would really like the focus to be on taking on bad contracts that even with retention has no value max 2 year deal.
also would be pretty Happy if we moved Murph. 3 years left but he will not be part of our good team in 3 years, and Taylor R to a team that wants to add scoring but is right up next to the cap. a projected 25-26 scorer making less then league min with a RFA number that is really low. might bring back something good. yes we can keep him but wouldnt he have much more value to a team right up against the cap as a 3rd liner? maybe with a cap dump for a 1st? |

So the 3 stars of the night last night make a combined total of $2.25 mil. And 2 of them (Raddysh, Katchook) are signed next year for a combined $1.5 mil.
Anderson is an RFA that I thought was just a guy as a throw-in for the McCabe/Lafferty trade that has basically done almost everything Lafferty did (kill penalties, play good defense, make the occasional good offensive play). I thought he wouldn't be offered a contract/be offered an AHL contract, but he has been solid as a fourth liner. Kinda reminds me of Desjardins during the cup year. Read where Derek Plante knew of (coached him) in college and the top brass asked about him before he became part of the trade. Man this front office sure operates differently than the previous one. Remember Hawks trading for Thomas Jurco because they had been eyeing him for a long while? |

You still need to ice a team that the fans (sell out last night) would be interested in seeing. Plus I think the tear down is just about over, now it is about building. You will see a lot more of the younger players next year(Vlasic/Phillips/Roos/Reichel/Guttman take on more prominent roles).
I don't think KD is going to take on bad contracts just to get a draft choice. it will have to be the right player that fits into the identity of the new Blackhawks. I do think they will resign Domi as a FA to be a veteran bridge for the next 3 seasons.

Richardson said it doesn't matter how many shots you give up it's where the shots are given up. They want to shoot from the points or the side boards they can have that all day long |

I watched the 1st and 3rd periods last night (streaming issues)and from my perspective Mitchell had a decent game. He didn’t look overmatched like in previous games. |
