Younger and more upside. Chances of any of these free agents amounting to much are incredibly slim. - CanuckDon

I don’t mind actually. Their systems are getting stronger, there’s seemingly more of a willingness by Miller and Pettersson to get along, probably because Pettersson has matured and Miller has a coach who could physically kick his ass, so I like what’s happening. They’re still gonna have a good pick in the first round. It’s more positive than it’s been for some time. - LeftCoaster
That pick could be both BPA & need in 1. |

Put it this way I get more excited when we go on the PK. At least then we have a chance of scoring.

I haven’t seen any reports of where have you? He is taking his time but maybe signing his D partner makes it more attractive? Plus the opportunity with Canucks has an open road with a young core. - Quinn's Quest
Im pretty sure RD said it on a pod, i could be wrong but im fairly sure. He seems to have his finger to the pulse when it comes to Canucks info imo. |

The thing about RD is he has trouble pronouncing his own name at times. He comes across dumb as a chalkboard, but he is smart enough to figure out to give the agents free airtime to promote their message about their client if in return they give him inside scoops.

I think he was in my neighborhood two days ago. There was a message on my windshield "The end is coming".
I like him, sometimes his takes are wild but always passionate.

Kind of an interesting thread on Twitter…
March 26th-On This Day in BC Sport History: 1915

It wasn't a comment aimed at anyone. I think the whole trade down in the top round is joke. I can see it in the fifth round.
If you can't find a player at #12 that will impact even in a small way to your team then IMO this draft is not as strong as people claim outside the top five.
I keep thinking there needs to be someone there or you are looking at another Lickermaki guy which is redundant. This is why I think they will pull an Uncle Lou and trade it. - VANTEL
I know BPA is a thing for Canucks but in this draft they have more choices. They are also just as likely to trade roster players for picks as part of shedding cap. Either way, I believe they will be highly active at or around the draft with moves.

Akito Hirose, D, 23 (Minnesota State University)
Some scouts prefer Mankato defenseman Akito Hirose, a junior defenseman. After receiving some attention last summer after a solid 26-point campaign, he upped it to 37 points while playing a key role again this season. Hirose, the younger brother of Detroit’s Taro Hirose, came close to ending St. Cloud’s shutout Thursday evening but nothing ultimately came from it. Hirose’s speed, with and without the puck, is already NHL-level, and the offense has followed him throughout. Players that think and move like Hirose have good careers. He’s someone that could be a valuable, puck-moving defenseman with some second power-play line opportunities, and if he decides to forego his senior year, it won’t take NHL teams long to snag him up.
Here is the report by Steven Ellis of Daily face-off. Might explain why they chose 1 over the other considering many have said Livingstone has some skating issues.
Chris Peters from Flo hockey
Akito Hirose, LHD, Minnesota State
A brilliant skater with good vision and offensive instincts, Hirose has had NHL interest after each of his three years at Minnesota State. The 23-year-old blueliner has always been a productive player dating back to his time in the BCHL. At Minnesota State, he’s become a better defender, but it still isn’t a strength of his game. That said, his mobility is going to go a long way for him and he clearly has the intelligence to play at a higher level. |

They have to be very active. Living on the bubble is no longer a target. If you are a bottom 10 teams and you trade two top forty picks you better be ready to fix the damn club. |

Yes RD reported nothing happening as of now with Canucks. Which meant nothing imminent. However, no one has reported Livingston is close to signing with anyone. I don’t know why he’s taking his time though as season is winding down. |
