The question is how other than eating 8 years of a buyout. |

Trade this years 1st, plus plus.
The common theme in here is that the Canucks suck at drafting so why bother keeping 1st rounders anyways? You preached it after two top 40's were moved... after you preached the opposite when we had the Islanders pick and were getting irritated when I said the pick may not be a lottery pick in the end. |

I will say it over and over, bringing back OEL proves the new management have no clue of what they are doing.
Wasting that much cap on a player that is terrible at defending and selling off two top forty draft picks in the same year 2023 is asinine. - VANTEL
You are losing it buddy |

If the plan with current management is to be competitive, then buying out OEL makes perfect sense. I believe it's an 8 million dollar cap savings next year, or something like that. They can hypothetically get some defensemen who can defend better, the caveat is those dmen have to want to come to Vancouver. It's always a two-way street in that regard.
Carson Soucy, Damon Severson and Dmitry Orlov are all decent players, they can spend that money on two of them instead of one OEL. My God, Benning, that has to be one of the worst trades in NHL history....just pathetic that guy was!!! - LeftCoaster
Why do you assume Aquilini will pay $19MM to make one of his biggest failures disappear. He won’t! Wake up guys |

This regime is in no way responsible for OEL. Personally I'd rather watch Tocchet ride OEL into LTIR than have the dead cap space. We paid enough money to have players not to play for the Canucks. I think it would be a nice refreshing change to avoid this scenario. Which seems to be their strategy. - Load Management

You are missing the point. Why did you need to trade for Hronek at all? I think he is decent but not worth two top 40 picks and more cap. I think you could have found a decent Dman in free agency.
Again Habs picked up Malloux who will be a good NHL player at 31. Why can Canucks not pick up a good Dman in the top 18 with the Islanders pick. - VANTEL
A 25 year old top 4 dman isn’t worth what we paid? Jesus man. |

Don said yesterday Gavrovsky is a top 4
People on here said Bear is top 4
Gudas is bottom 2
I am saying getting Hronek is fine if you fix the rest of the D
Getting Hronek and not fixing the rest of the D is dumb. - VANTEL
It’s a process. Benning got 8 years. Hopefully new management is allowed more than one |

He is a cheap female genitalia!!!! And stubborn. Vantel do you think RT wants OEL? (frank) no, he hates him from his time in the desert. Do you think JR and Alvin want him? (frank) no! If they have the green light he is 300% gone. I really doubt they do |

If it is a process then keep the draft picks and cap space. Develop your draft selections. Three years from now you have good players all on ELC.
So far they have repeated what Benning has done.

They have pouty for two more years and hughes for 4. They need to make some (frank)ing moves now. (frank) picks that may pan out in 4 years.
For the record I wanted to trade Pouty and the whole gang. But since it’s not happening let’s go all in now. My opinion |

Liquormaki blows. Another reason to trade all of our picks. Our pro scouting has been pretty impressive so far but our amateur scouting continues to stink |

Lefty is thrilled that we kept our own pick. The other ones don't matter only our first.

They wanted him last season and this season. They were happy with this team's D... said so themselves. OEL had a good season with Myers... instead of trying to move him when he was at a high, they kept him now he's at an all time low....

You believe OEL or Myers had trade value last summer? Do you believe anything that comes out of JR’s mouth? |
