Tough loss tonight. The boys played well, should have got the 2 points, but the darn Bettman refs want to keep the final West playoff spot close, so gave the Flames the important PP.

At least the team got a point out of it and are still in contention for the coveted 11-13 spot in the draft.

Need to finish out the season with a few more wins, get used of the new systems and be ready for a full season under Tocchet.

Looks like there will be changes for bigger players in off season. RT post game kept alluding what he wants to see more strength. Existing players can add maybe a few percent more. So new players it is and trading away the ones that don’t fit his system.

I can see why Hughes didn’t get any Norris votes. Guy doesn’t play defence, don’t get me wrong every team needs a pp specialist but man his job is to help prevent goals.

Hughes has the 16th best 5v5 goal differential in the league this year. Considering every other defender ahead of him is playing on a top 10 team and has a decent defender to play with.

Hughes most minutes with Bear, Myers, Juulsen and Schenn this season.

Can't decide whether or not to go watch again. Wasn't a very good game last time I have to say. For a group of players that are supposed to be just below the NHL level. Tape to tape passes are rare.
