This isn’t hindsight speaking. Matthew Tkachuk is a player no matter what state this franchise is in, I would have gave up anything for. Leader. Agitator. Skill. Young.

I don’t think this team is nearly as bad as we make them out to be. I just think we’re handcuffed by bad contracts and not knowing when and who the next Lindros or Giroux will be. I don’t know what we’re gonna do with Atkinson because we definitely don’t need that guy.

Yes, Frosty has turned me around on my opinion of him once he started playing with better line-mates. I'm not about to declare him a star/difference-maker, but wonder how much more he'd produce if he wasn't playing on such a sad-sack team as the Flyers.

I think there may have been a bit of sarcasm involved when he said he sniped that last goal. It was an empty netter from 10 feet out although Florida basically played with an empty net all night since Alex Lyon was in goal.

The lottery system weighting and max spots have changed several times, first as a disincentive for tanking and then, moving a bit back in the other direction, to reduce how far a team could rise or drop.

The Flyers hit their 2.4% chance in 2017 to move up from 13th to 2nd overall --the jbiggest jump in lottery history. Unfortunately, we know how that one worked out.

This team needs to be young next year. Like Torts said, there needs to be subtraction first. Angelo and Hayes must be gone. Foerster looks like he belongs and he has the right attitude. Farabee gets a pass this year and he seems to be rounding into form. You will have Coots if he is healthy and maybe Atkinson. Those are your veteran leaders. I like Lemieux too, but I didn't realize he was already 27 years old. That's a bit of a drawback. I only trade TK or Provorov if I'm bowled over by a deal. Make TK the captain if he stays. Hart and Ersson should make a good goalie combo although Ersson looked pretty bad in the game I saw last week. You could have driven a truck through his five hole that night. Reminds me of an old Hexy joke back when he had five hole issues in the playoffs. It said Hexy jumped in front of a bus and it went through his legs. Poor guy. Flyers helped the Penwhines tonight which kind of sucks although I'm kind of torn. I don't know if I want them to miss the playoffs or finish in the 8th seed to get curb stomped by the Broooooins. That's all folks!

Lol yes, definitely sarcasm on the EN goal, but I do think Frosty has improved. I'm not sold that he is a top 6 player but think he will be fine as a 3rd line player in the NHL who can bump up here and there when needed.

Yes, I pretty much feel the same way about Frost. While his play certainly has improved I just can bring myself to think that he could be a 2nd line center on a contending team at the NHL level. I can certainly see him being a top 9 forward which I probably wouldn't have said a month ago.

1) I didn't "fawn" over Patrick. I thought he'd be good NHL player and he got off to pretty good start in the league, too, before the neurological issues came into play. From there, his trajectory plummeted. His pre-NHL injuries were not concussion related.

I say "we know how it turned out" because there are zero guarantees beforehand.

2) I believe in patience with prospects because different players develop at different rates. Rushing to judgment on young players is a great way to end up with regrets down the line. Not every player is going to make it. Not every first rounder turns into a home run or even a double.

3) When I believe in a player, I'll argue on his behalf. But I never turn a blind eye to where he needs improvement.

Last 44 games: Frost 29 points (leads club in assists), Tippett 28. And Tippett has played great. Both are important to the team's future. Tippett needs to finish more consistently. Frost needs a bit more overall consistency but he's a good playmaker.

It wasn’t as much sarcasm as it was just joking. I think he is going to be a good playe. How good? That depends on his will to make plays. He may be able to be a 50-60 point guy.

The NHL isn't wrong in that article. The Flyers traded Myers and Patrick to Nashville for Ellis. Then Nashville trade Patrick for Glass in a separate deal. That simple. If you bothered to actually check the facts. You wouldn't embarrass yourself so much on a daily basis.

You are a riot. A poster (I forget who) made a comment about a 3 team trade, and you felt the need to correct him as if it really matters. I remember the day when the trade was made and reading about it right here on HB. 3 teams were involved in an exchange of players so who cares if someone dared to call it a 3 team trade? You should be the moderator on here so you can ban everyone that you disagree with, belittle, chastise, etc. That would leave you and what, maybe 3-4 others. It would make it much easier for me to go right to your posts so I can be better informed

In sports, when a team make a trade with another team and then makes a separate trade to move one of the players acquired in the first trade to another team. That is not a 3 team trade. A 3 team trade is 3 teams all involved in the same trade. That did not happen in this case. The deals were filed as separate trades with the league office. Which is why they're listed as separate trades in the trade history, as the documentation I provided showed. End of story.
