Isles starting to play playoff hockey. Looking solid in the third. Bolduc looked good from what I saw too. - streaks
Bolduc's name was seldom mentioned mentioned tonight, which is typically a good sign. He's flat out better than Aho |

Yeah that typically is a good sign. That leafs team is still soft đđ. Romanov with a big hit in the third and for the first time this season he wasnât jumped after the delivery. He was even looking over his shoulder for someone to grab him đđ |

I really hope Nelson's not out for a long time. Reckless hit and no call was frustrating. In TSN's defense, they tried to play it off as no big deal, but on the replay where you clearly see his neck and head get crunched into the boards, they conceded after an awkward silence that it should have been a boarding call.
I feel like if that same hit happens to a big name star, there's more action on the league's part. Nelson's just as important to the Isles, but he's unfortunately not in the league's "untouchable" category.
Aside from that really crappy thing, though, what a game by the Isles. They really stuck with it after Toronto put on all its razzle dazzle in the first. Just tightened up and frustrated them into an endless series of mistakes.

There was somewhat of an admission from TSN afterwards but it was more of a 'could of gone either way' kinda response. If Brock is out for an extended period, it will be interesting to see if the league schedules a call. (Unlikely) |

I 100% agree with him. We can argue about Hasek, etc and there is a debate there of course but if weâre talking about pure talent he to me is the best Iâve seen. |

Great atmosphere last night. Incredible win great to see the team respond after that hit by hammering the Leafs on the score board. Wouldâve liked to see Martin pummel Accari in all honesty classless or not. It was a bad hit. Missed it initially had my face in a beer but after watching the replay thought it was pretty incredible there wasnât even a minor with a linesman and ref looking right at the play. |

I only caught the third period. But it was close to complete dominance. Other than the Marner goal where - he was left open as Horvat went to the bench to grab a stick after giving his to Romanov (I think), Leafâs couldnât get anything together. Marner was pretty fired up after scoring that goal, didnât seem like another Tuesday night game to me to them, as the teabag blog would lead you to believe đđ |

Well of course if they lose they always start with the, âyou have to understand this is the islanders Stanley Cup because weâre the Leafsâ nonsense. Iâll say it again. Unless one of Samsanov or Murray goes on an incredible run they are going to once again have a very short lived playoffs. Also, the booing of Tavares is hysterical. Itâs a sport letâs not make pretend stuff like this doesnât happen in every sport pretty much everywhere. The fact that they get their panties in a bunch, both the Leafs and their fans, just adds fuel to the fire and makes us want to do it more.
I can give a crap about Tavares. Wouldâve loved to keep him but the team has performed better without him. Iâll also say the Islanders have performed MUCH better then the Leafs since they signed him. Thatâs undeniable but you wouldnât think it anytime you read their thread. Denial, thatâs what that is. Great crowd and great atmosphere and to the haters well you can just go (frank) off. |

I assume youâre referring to this:
âLosing to bad teams is the Leafs M.O.
We all knew this was coming. Especially when this is the most important game on the schedule for NYI and just a random Tuesday in March for the Leafs.â

No denying any of this. Regular season means sh!t, ask any NHL player. They get through the regular season to get to the real season. And with +/- 10 games left in the season, if you're a playoff bound team, you should be playing playoff style hockey. It is very difficult to turn the switch on and off. I get they sat a d-man or two last night, but they had all 12 forwards, and sitting a guy or two shouldn't matter if you have a good, sound system in place. That team may get out of the first round, but as you say, won't go much further than that with the lack of heart that they still seem to have. And it makes me happy knowing this. |

Yep. I was on the Sabres thread a couple weeks ago when we played them. The entire thread was hammering the Islanders for their âboringnessâ including their blogger. Comments like Iâd rather lose then watch a team play like this. Well I guess that 7-0 drubbing they just got from the Bruins was real exciting for them to watch. I think itâs been so long since theyâve been there they have forgotten thatâs exactly how you have to play in the playoffs to be successful. |

Good game last night guys. Sorokin played amazing and the Isles (as usual) tuned up the Leafs in Long Island. FWIW I hope you guys make the playoffs and beat the Bruins in the first round. Good luck the rest of the way! |

On a different note. Growing up I have always argued that Mike Bossy was best 'pure' goal scorer ever to play the game. After watching Ovi all of these years, I may now have to give that honor to him.
In no way is this any disrespect to my childhood idol 'Bossy', Ovi is just that good!!! |
