I'm thinking its a MCL or ACL sprain (6-8 weeks). This Saturday will be week 5. Maybe he starts skating in a week or so?

I kinda feel sorry for Wotherspoon. Why don't they just send him to BPT to get some ice time.

I'm sure he would rather sit and take the NHL money along with the NHL lifestyle on the road compared to the AHL money and 6 hour bus rides

With Aho out they need a guy around to be the 7th defenseman. Plus he's making NHL money instead of AHL money so he's probably not too upset.

He's also a Group 6 UFA after this year so he may not be around long-term and probably isn't at the top of their list of guys to be getting big minutes in Bridgeport. For the record, I liked him and wouldn't mind keeping him around for depth but the reality is that he may go somewhere that he thinks he can win a job and stick in the NHL.

That would be perfect timing to get him in some games before the PO’s.

For the Oilers to have both Draistal and Mcdavid and accomplish as little as they have is one of the biggest examples of management ineptitude in the NHL imo. Absolute shame they can’t surround those guys with more talent.

Agreed and yeah getting sick of writing IF they make the playoffs in every one of my hypothetical posts. I think we all acknowledge it’s not a forgone conclusion. With that said if they take care of business tomorrow against Columbus they’ll be putting themselves in a pretty good position.
