The guy was obviously a great player. We had our opportunity and got rid of him. Then we got him back when he sucked. Rawest deal of all time. |

For the Oilers to have both Draistal and Mcdavid and accomplish as little as they have is one of the biggest examples of management ineptitude in the NHL imo. Absolute shame they can’t surround those guys with more talent. - Cptmjl
Mcdavid almost got them there last year and they finally added a good d man to the team. I like the oilers our west and he's worth staying up to watch |

There was a show or documentary I guess I saw that had that story in it. Funny stuff. - Cptmjl
It was an interesting interview. According to him Wang did quite a bit of meddling.
They were trying to make a trade that included Dave Scatchard for Jason Allison but Wang nixed it because Scatchard "visited sick kids in hospitals"
Milbury followed that up with saying "we were trying to build a good team, not a rehabilitation team" |

Yeah he’s incredible. Don’t get me wrong they have a good team but with those two over the period of time they’ve been there they should’ve accomplished a helluva lot more imo. That’s like an early era Crosby/Malkin situation in Edmonton. |

Milbury has the Wang excuse to lean on and believe me I think it’s warranted to an extent but the guy was completely inept at his job. Can’t stand him guy is an incredible douche. - Cptmjl
To his credit, he did admit that some of the terrible trades were solely on him. Most notably the Luongo/Kvasha deal
Still (frank)ing hate his guts, but I'll give him credit for owning it |

Yeah but for years the douche flamed more competent GM’s, players, etc. without acknowledging his own incredibly stupid moves so idk. Him saying it now when nobody cares makes me hate him more. |

He just talked and talked without the Chiclets guys getting a word in. It was like listening to an egomaniac's autobiography as a book on tape |

It was in the ESPN 30 for 30 on Spano. |

I wish we could see him play more, but I don't want him in the east (unless it's with the Isles). |

He doesn’t have the complete game that Hudson Fasching has but agreed, I would like to watch him more often. |

There were a couple Sabre fans on the pens thread a few weeks ago saying how the pens were done and the Sabres were young and incredible world beaters. Just complete crap talking to a very large degree. Calling Crosby and malkin has beens, etc. Lol. I feel like every season the Sabres go on these little runs and fall short. Their fanbase hasn’t learned that over the last eleven years because the same Sabre fans on here do the same crap talking every season. - Cptmjl
I do think they're finally on the path to having the potential to become a real good team, but they're far from there yet |

I agree. I think they have five players with twenty or more goals this season. They have some good kids in the pipeline as well. With that said I think they’ve been close to this same situation a couple times over the last decade and (frank)ed it up.
They need to shore up their defense and get some goaltending and they’ll be in the playoffs next season unless some of their kids take a step back. Adams was smart doing next to nothing at the TDL imo. |

Find it if you can. The story is amazing! So many screw ups and Spano came very close to getting away with it despite having no money. |
