I truly feel bad for anyone that wasn't around to hear a live playoff game called by Gene Hart. |

Anyone remember when Gene was the "color" and Stu Nahan was play-by-play? |

Haha I was just (frank)ing around... I have no idea what Melrose was on in that last Flyers broadcast but he sounded like he didn't know where he was and his mic had slipped down under his chin. And Bucci.... jfc... his PBP is awful.
- Tomahawk
one of the bloggers said he met Melrose before the game and it was sad, said he was like an old grandpa who slowed way down, felt bad for Barry
I did like his commentary in the studio |

Somebody once shared a video of the Packers TV voice Ray Scott during the Lombardi era. The only thing I remember is his call of a Bart Starr TD pass to Boyd Dowler. Starr …. Dowler .. touchdown.

Well we didn’t want York, we wanted Caulfied but we won’t know how good York truly is until Provorov is traded and we see York reach his fullest potential on the left side I guess. I can’t keep up with these arguments. - SuperSchennBros
only arguments if you want them to be, time will tell with CF's decision on this one. Was clear cut till Caufield went down, brought he size and durability into question
My guess, it probably gets close to being even |

Gene was the best! Sometimes so deadpan funny too. I remember in the 80’s the Flyers were playing the Oilers, Gretzky had the puck and was heading up ice and Gene just said “and here comes Superman with the puck on his stick”. And I loved the way he said all the Russian names, because he spoke the language. And who could forget “Leach shots and scores! For a case of Tastycakes!”
Good night and good hockey. |

Poulin's 2-men down shorty against the Nordiques is my favorite call probably. "He's going right on in. Score!"

It seems like Claude Lemeuix junior is playing his way into a contract. I haven't watch every period lately but it doesn't seem like he's taken too many stupid/bad penalties. Plays with some jam. |

Not really interested unless they can somehow shed ND's salary first. |

He’s been good. I don’t mind resigning if 2/3 forwards go out the door. That’s a decent guy on a fill in the void contract. |

the color commentator for the panthers for awhile was great. he would do goal calls sent in by fans. Wasn't the game that Richie killed him but another......the booth the booth the booth is on fire.

i said i could easily see him being resigned. the commentators have been talking him up like he may be, but his skating has been impressive and his overall work. IMo we easily won that trade.
also, he seems to play well with frost. winning puck battles and being annoying.

I’m not in love with Branden Lemeuix so far but I do appreciate the role he’s trying to put himself in. He stirs the pot a lot like your old school agitator, which I miss having around. Like your Dan Carsillo’s, Steve Downie’s or Max Talbot’s. I still think these guys still have their place in the game if they can play. So far Lemeuix seems to be a point per game guy and the other team is noticing him most shifts. If he returns for 1.2 - 1.5 for two seasons, I’m fine with it. |

He's played all of 6-games here. Remember how solid TDA looked back in October (8 games, 7 points, +3)? Then his true defensive self poked out in November (14gp, 3 pts, -15) and he eventually ended up in the doghouse.
Beware of small sample sizes. |

I’m just being sarcastic. Let me start by saying that I love Ivan Provorov, he’s my guy, I support him but I admit it comes from the player he was his first five seasons on the team. I have no problem with anyone who wants to trade him because his play has jumped off a cliff and you’d prefer the assets the team could receive in return. On the other hand, calling him selfish because he won’t play his off side or calling him holographic because he chooses to stand by his beliefs is a different argument. Until I’ve seen he’s actually a terrible person, he’ll continue to be my favorite current Flyer. |

You believe DeAngelo has been in Torts’ doghouse? I think DeAngelo has gotten way too many chances and opportunities. It’s almost taken the media to call Torts out before changes were made. |
