Is this the first year an all star leads off for the dunk tank Bill? |

Good move sending Foerster down. Keeping him with the big club will worsen draft odds.

Clarkie did the dunk tank the first few years of the Carnival. If you've ever seen the photos, the water looked horrifying, too. Filthy, almost greenish.
But the 3-time Hart Trophy winner was up there nonetheless. |

And let's not forget, the Flyers hit their 2.4% chance in 2017 to move up from 13th to 2nd overall and selected Nolan Patrick. They actually hold the record for largest jump in Draft Lottery history, moving up 11 spots.
The New York Rangers won the second phase of the 2020 NHL draft lottery, giving them the first overall pick. The Rangers were among eight teams that lost in the qualifying round of the playoffs with a chance to claim it. The league was forced to adjust the process after the COVID-19 pandemic paused the season and the lottery was turned into a two-phase process. The league’s bottom seven teams had their seasons concluded March 12 and ended up not winning the lottery in June. The winning placeholder team, which became the Rangers, got the top pick with a 12.5 per cent chance.
The Oilers had an 11.5 percent chance of winning based on their 28th-place finish this season. At 20 percent, the Buffalo Sabres had the best odds to win, followed by the Arizona Coyotes at 13.5 percent among the 14 non-playoff teams |

You think Clarke made the call from Florida to start him as 2C next year? |

Torts dislike for frost is sickening and it bothers me. We can say that Torts is trying to push frost but at some point the kid needs to be praised for the work he has done |

I’m not saying Tyson Foerster will be the next David Pastrnak but I will say Foerster is built a lot like him. |

I agree. Its almost like Frost told Torts he was a cat guy or something.

Might be something to the fact that none of his coaches have been satisfied with him. Every coach had a big "but" when talking about Frost. Expect he will be traded |

Which coaches weren't satisfied with him? |

I was really rooting for the Yotes today. They were down 2-0, tied it a 2, and tied it 3-3 before losing in the Shootout. One point at least but Flyers have one point more and 2 games in hand. Will be difficult to drop lower than 7th. |

Struggled terribly in Liiga, didn't make Finland's World Juniors national team. Went down to Mestis (the minor league) and tore it up. He's too good for that level. Whether that renewed his confidence and he can get going in Liiga remains to be seen next season. |

Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Yeo was quite satisfied with Frost's final two months last season and felt he left off in a really good place that would pay dividends in 2022-23. He said that both in public and privately. It took until December of this season to start coming true but it clicked.
Yeo gave Frost some tough love last season but was -- and from afar, still is -- in his corner. He also wasn't sparing with praise when Frost started to put it together in the latter part of last season. He said all along that he wanted Frost to work on process and not worry about points.... the points would come (at the NHL level) in time if he did the other things first. That's what has happened.
Among current Flyers staff, Danny Briere, Brent Flahr and Rocky Thompson are all believers in Frost.
As for his previous coaches, Kerry Huffman has said all along that Frost was too naturally gifted and coachable to not eventually figure it out. Gordo only had Frost's 2019-20 rookie season with him, which was partially spent in the NHL and then interrupted by the pandemic.
AV, likewise, didn't have that much time with Frost. He had an NHL stint in 2019-20 but then was lost for the duration of the 2020-21 season due to a shoulder injury in the second period of his second game of the season. Frost also had a bout with Covid while he was out, so he wasn't around the team.
Torts is hard on Frost and much less likely than Yeo to balance the tough love with praise and encouragement. But Torts also knows that he's not going to win every roster discussion. Frost is one he'll probably to give in on this offseason because Briere and Flahr want the player here (unless he's part of some currently unforeseen trade package).

Hope Foerster is not as soft as Pastrnak is. Regualr season is one thing, but Pastrnak has yet to perform above and beyond in the playoffs, which in Boston is the big knock on him. |

JOB had a solid season at BU this year. BU has won hockey East (Kaplan with a goal and a helper in the championship game) and is now heading to Tampa to compete for a national championship. JOB has 31 points in 38 games and is wearing an 'A' for the team. This most likely is not going to be enough to get him a contract with the Flyers, but this has been a very nice bounce back season for JOB, and most importantly for him, he has stayed on the ice and avoided injuries. |

Bill, I'm sorry but the poster is not wrong! Every single coach has shown hesitancy when it comes to Morgan Frost. Its not about his talent its about his consistency in moving his feet and playing a 200 foot game. You yourself have quoted the player stating he got lazy because things were too easy for him in the minors and that clearly shown itself when he got to the Flyers. Yeo was happy with getting Frost to do the little things better for sure, but clearly Torts just stated that at the start of this season Frost was driving him crazy and needed to consistently play a 200 foot game, so clearly what Yeo started last season was unfinished. Bottom line is Frost has improved, but he clearly has not won over this coaching staff, nor did he win over Yeo and his coaching staff. I agree in the end Frost will be here next year barring an off season trade, but hearing Torts he wants to just augment the kids with solid veterans and not chase anything larger. I presume if Torts stated this then he already has agreement with Briere that this is the direction the team is going. When it comes to excitment level going into next season, seeing the development of Foerster and Tippet are at the top of my list. Can you imagine those two on either side of the Flyers' PP? |

LOL. Pasternak has scored 30 goals and 44 assists for 74 points in 70 playoff games.
In the 17/18 playoff season, Pasternak had 6 goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 12 playoff games.
In 20/21 he had 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points in 11 playoff games
Last year he had 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points in 7 playoff games. |
