I am not convinced Primeau is any long-term solution for the Habs in net, perhaps as a back-up, but not gonna be a difference maker. He has not shown the kind of progress we were expecting in Laval really, and his play at the NHL has been mediocre at best (yeah, the team in front of him sucks, but still).

If he ends up being something more useful than a career back up 20-25 games a season, great.

I just do not see it.

the good thing here is that apparently PLD cleary indicated that he wants to play for MTL, so other teams interested in acquiring him won't give the moon for a 1y rental. that should keep the price reasonable for MTL, a bit like Kane with NYR. the price will be higher because it's a full year and not 20 games like Kane but still.

I think we all know that money will be the deciding factor here.

Can't see another team trading for him without an extension, and he'd be nuts not to take the money, wanting to be in Mtl or not.

The guy is 24, not like a vet who's made a boatload and is deciding where he wants to play..
