This is combination of the kinds of players that Tortorella favors. Which is part of what makes him an archaic coach and his schizophrenic attempt at motivating and pushing the player. He ignorantly fails to realize that most young players just need steady coaching, positive reinforcement and an opportunity to succeed. - MJL
LOL .. you obviously don't listen to a word Torts has said about the direction of the team and how to build it. Torts has said almost exactly this all season. You can't make this up! |

So really 38 points in 62 games? - SuperSchennBros
38 points in "62 games" is actually pretty solid production for a young player when you consider that only 5 out of those 38 came on the PP.
His ES scoring rate is actually higher than Tippett, Farabee and much higher than Cates. |

The fact that he played at least 10 games with plugs cost him a shot at a 50 point season. People were drooling that all star kevin Hayes is approaching his career high of 56 points
Linemates matter - corduroy
It was more like 20 games with plugs. Bill just happened to pull that ten game set. Hayes is a prime example of the linemate discussion. When he played with offensive players early on he put up points. He has fallen off a cliff in the last month since having to play with lesser offensive talent. |

Torts pretty much said, in the post game presser last night, that Frost doesn't perform when playing in more difficult situations (better opposition, more important games). - Dkos
I want Frost to succeed and I think Tippett and Frost could be a good pair but I think Torts is right by stating this and I don’t think there is anything wrong by saying this. |

I almost consider Cates a none factor considering I don’t even believe he should be playing the roles he’s in. |

Well call me when he actually gets the chance to play in an "important' game. Flyers haven't had one of those for three years now.
No one on this team excels against good teams minus maybe Carter Hart. Why is Frost the only one singled out? |

I dont mind the old school love for Frost, I would prefer Torts was a little different, but Frost is getting better, as long as there is results, eh. Torts was not saying lets see how Frost plays vs better teams, he was saying, lets see how we play vs better teams

So the Flyers have two recalls left; I wonder if both should be defensemen. Have another look at Attard and see Ginning. It’s tough to say what the plan will be for the blue line next season, but it can’t hurt to look at some young in-house options.

He is trying to motivate Frost but he is also being an bumhole. Frost has already shown that he should be with the team next year. To anyone with a clue. - MJL
No doubt he’s a Richard, but I’m sure the coach ( and Briere) can see that too. |

Danny B would be smart to fire Torts this summer and bring in his own guy.

Keep both- let them work it out.
if one has to go- my vote is on Frost. |

My suspicion, Torts will be elevated to hockey operations and Danny will hire a younger coach. |

I never said that it didn't. All I stated was last night Frost scored two goals against a bad team. This was in reponse to the the question of whether Frost was just having a late season surge as he did last season. Its a legitmate question to see how the entire team does against the remaining good teams with something to play for coming up, in fact Torts said this last night also, that he wants to see how the team plays against those teams. The evaluation of Frost and the rest of the young players is still on going. - jd250
You're right, you never said that he didn't. That's the problem with your position concerning Frost. You state that it's a legitimate question for the entire team but that's BS on your part. That only applies to certain players from your view point. |

I think most everyone watching does, including Torts. No matter that he likes to ask for more and be sparing in praise. The bar raising can absolutely work for Frost. He is very much improved this season.

I'm aware of what Tortorella says but I don't worship on his every word. Nor am I easily manipulated by what he says. Your support of Tortorella is mirroring your support of Fletcher. I await the day when you turn on Tortorella and act like you knew it all along. This will then end exactly the same as our debates on Fletcher did. |

He has 38 points in 72 games. Not terrible but not great. He’ll need to take bigger steps next season. The linemates complaint is a none issue. I think everyone has played with everyone at some point this season. He especially so with Tippett and a lot of time with JvR. - SuperSchennBros
Just admit you were wrong instead of pretending it was a good idea for Torts to play Frost with two unskilled plugs in MacEwen and Deslauriers. They have 21 points in 122 combined games - which is terrible. |

We can't ignore the possibility that if both Yeo and Tortorella handled Frost differently, he would be more advanced than he is now as a player. There's no way to prove that and its speculation but I believe that he would be, |

Absolutely. Not being talked about because there seems to be a cult-like mentality among a portion of the fan base that loves Tortorella. |
