Jan, hope your daughter is feeling better.
Great deal for the Rangers and Chytil. Crazy he’s the 3rd most tenured Ranger. |

Not sure how anybody complain about this deal. Center depth solidified for next 4 years. Chytl paid under market value |

really Chytil could have about 30 assists right now if Lafreniere and Kakko got a little puck luck once in awhile |

4.43M for a 3C. I'd rather keep Tarasenko than Kane, and even if you keep one it still means you gotta find a RW2 #NYR |

That is because Twitter is hate-worthy.

The tweet makes no sense. He literally just states the contract over Again. He doesn’t really say if he hates it or not. Then completely changes his thoughts to the Tarasenko/Kane debate lol |

Tarasenko is going to go after this season...He still has some gas left in the tank for a few years and can make another big $$ contract on the market. Kane has another year or two in him. He isn't getting a big offer from anyone else, and doubt he really wants to go anywhere else, especially back to Chi. What do ya think he'd accept from NYR on a 2yr deal?...Anyone think he'd take a deal like Bergeron (2.5 AAV)?

I'm sure it's been covered. But this is very good all the way around. Good job by Drury, good for Chytil and good for the cap. - tomburton99
I agree. Seems like the right number for Chytils current production and could look like a steal towards the end.
If the cap only goes up by $1M, wonder if that means 1 year deals for Laf and Miller. Ideally they would be signed for 3-4 years but next season could be a real problem. |

Maybe. Assume they have 13 million dollars fill 8 roster spots. Pencil in Othmann and 1 of Jones/Robertson. that's only 1.7 million (roughly) for 2 spots. They can make it work. |

I think any decision on who we would rather keep will be based on post season performance. Tarasenko could 100% get more on the open market. Could see Kane staying here and finishing out his career with us just hope it ends with a Stanley cup. Keep Othman in mind moving forward as he’s going to be a player in this league. We can worry about all this in the off season. Chytil taking what they offered tells me that this team wants to stay together and build for the future. That goes for Laf & Miller too. Could see them all take team friendly deals as I truly believe they want to put on that Rangers Jersey and play in MSG as long as possible. For now let’s taking over the Devils and get home ice advantage! LGR!! |

be great if they could manage to talk Miller and Lafreniere into taking the same contract |

Keeping Kane/Tarasenko is going to be directly tied to the salary cap.
Heres what Im thinking. We have one RW spot to fill. Assuming we resign Motte and Cuylle is called up. Vesey will end up back with Kreider/Chytil, leaving that top RW spot open. |

Othman could play the wing on 3rd line. Kakko may have to move up 2RW if hes ready |

I think keeping Kane will be. But Tarasenko can still fetch a big salary from numerous teams. Unless he takes a seriously friendly discount, I find it hard to believe he will be here next year. Although I would love to be wrong because he's been great
I would rather put Ohtmann is that spot instead of Vesey. Let the kid seize the opportunity (edit: nyrangers2 beat me to it) |

With the kind of chemistry the kid line is starting to develop, I have a VERY hard time seeing that line split up. Every time they do it, they inevitably end up back together. Its looking like all 3 of them will end up with 40+ points this season. In 2 years or so, we might see all 3 hitting 50-60+.
I doubt Othmann is called up for any extended period of time next year. Maybe at the end of the season if the Wolfpack are out of the playoff hunt, or maybe during the NHL playoffs. But I think its gonna be Cuylle playing with the Rangers next year. Hes got 24 goals on the year in the AHL, if we could get even half that from him on a 4th line role that would be spectacular. Hes a big, bruising sniper. |

Agreed Cuylle will be called up for sure. Will be interesting to see the top 6 RW's next year.
