If you look back at the 2017 draft when Mittelstadt was draft there are only a few players doing better than Mittelstadt and only one maybe two ithat would have been drafted in the 8 spot. Necas and Suzuki and I think only Necas was predicted top 10.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it wasn't a bad pick.

All these trades are going to cost something and it's likely more than spare parts.

Meanwhile, Mitts is sitting there at a relatively high value while his role is slowly being reduced by younger players. Great timing to capitalize on that. If they expect Savoie and Kulich to be on the team, something needs to give.

I think Quinn, Cozens and Peterka are penciled in for the second line next year at least at the start. Quinn and Peterka will both be stronger with more experience I am sure we will see them together next year.

If the Sabres stay in house next year other than say bring in Frederick Anderson G for Levi.

Can you extend Mitts in a reduced role? Is Krebs only a 4C? Where do Ostlund and Rosen fit. In your example, can you extend Joker as a 3RD (after playing him as a top 4 for years)?

Yeah Sabres have to many young players knocking on the door. He just doesn't have it anymore.

Get the team and Levi some additional support for next season, which includes a true quality goaltender to help take some of the pressure off by adding quality starts when Levi doesn't play.

No more Comrie or UPL.

I think Comrie or UPL would be fine next year as a backup and mentor if Levi is ready for the NHL. What to do with the 3rd goalie is the ?? Can't carry 3 goalies on the NHL roster again - that was stupid.

Sabres are gonna have to make some trades by next TDL, they have a overabundance of Forward Prospects and a lot of young players already in front of them. You haven't even named Nadeau or Neuchev, Kisakov Poltapov, Kozak. You will have a backload in Rochester that could hold up other players in the System. Sabres need to target a few players for trades and go get them, they have the assets to do it.

We all know though that the kids line isn’t staying together forever. Eventually it will get switched around again. Just make sure you have 9 really good forwards

IF Levi is truly the real deal, the Sabres can go deep next year if they do at least two of the following three in the off-season:

Replace Mittelstadt with someone with similar offensive ability but much better defense.

Replace Olofsson with someone with similar offensive ability but much better defense.

Replace Bryson with someone with similar puck carrying ability but much better defense.

I agree with 2 and 3 (and for 3, I think we need two new dmen unless johnson is the real deal). As for 1, not sure rhe hate for Mittelstadt, he's been our best forward over the last month or so, including 2 assists last night. He may be part of Adam's perceived core??

Incredible risk if you go with Levi, UPL, Subban, Houser. No experience, no one you really trust yet. If you plan on Levi in the NHL next year, I think you need to trade UPL.

I'm jaded. I loved Levi's performance last night. But whenever I see something like that, my mind immediately reminds me of Trent Edwards' first career start against the Jets.

The last thing we need is Savioe playing 8-10 minutes a game. I think he gets a look but I think he gets another year in the WHL and Kulich starts out in the AHL.

I think you are right its going to be a tough call on management. I think they use the 9 games to see what Savioe can do but with Kulich its easy to see him as first call up.

Savoie is making the team next year and it wonlt be at an 8-10 minute clip. He'll play 3rd line and play 14-16 minutes. There's absolutely nothing for him to gain going back to Juniors. Now, he has a big summer ahead and needs to add muscle, as does Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Rousek, Cozens etc.
