Friedman made it sound like Provy is likely gone. He wants it and the team wants it. It's a big loss imo, hope they can work out a good deal and get a good player in return. Just glad it's not chuck making the deal. - rayc16
right. of the two i would prefer to keep provie over sanhiem. but understand and heard the nasty knuckles. shame but years of losing does that to a person. and now with no light at the end.

so speaking of offseason. contracts to be signed.
bellows- not qualified
cates- 2 year at 1.5-2?
frost- 2 year at 1.5-2?
york-3 year at 2-2.5
lemieux-2 year at 1.5
thoughts, to high too low. don't think anyone gets long deals but more prove it deals. cates first year, frost starting to play more consistently, york first full year, lemieux may just be a one year deal. but with rebuilding and what he has brought i liked his game. solid 3rd/4th liner, brings some grit and can skate well.

don't disagree. we may not be saying this if ellis was healthy though. imo he was expected to do too much. he's not a #1, but a good #2 compliment.

maybe not. Unfortunately over the course of the year I thought he was the Flyers best defensemen. |

I think they should take a risk and sign York 6 yrs @ 4.25- potential to have a top 4 Dman under control for under 5 million would be very beneficial long term. Provy will get moved in the summer and DeAngelo is gone after next season. 11.25 million off the blue line rather quickly.
And I would not re sign Lemieux- plenty of 4 th line options within the organization. |

hayes trade may bring another player back. but ntil
farabee coots tk
tyson frost tip
laughton cates allison
ND ?? ??
just guessing
not pencilling atkinson in as we haven't heard anything. brink could be an outside shot, don't think tanner showed much but has been injured, so without B.L. two 4th line spots. question then is do we want some of these kids in a 4th line role. depending on who, (like brink i would want on the 3rd line), could see allison going to the 4th line.
i'd be fine with the york deal you proposed. |

Even though some on here don't believe that Frost is figuring things out, the coaching staff disagrees with you
Brad Shaw on Morgan Frost:
"The Frost line was great again. Frosty’s really starting to get a feel for how to have success at this level and that's a great sign for the future, for him, and for the organization."
That sounds like frosty is figuring things out, eh? |

I'd lock York up and throw that type of money at him now. The kid can play and he will be a part of the youth movement here
Even offer him 4m for 6 years.
That's good money |

I think they may be able to move a contract or two that you have listed. We’ll see what Danny boy can do. But how right you are. A whole lot of average out of those guys. - landros 2
I hope you are right. If they can and don't waste JVRs space, Couturier's contract may be coverable. Also forgot to mention Ellis. He is LTIR but they have to be cap compliant with him on day one)
Also, love your avatar. It is my screen saver at work. Suddenly no one bothers me anymore... |

How sobering is it that perennial doormat Buffalo has talent that dwarfs what the Flyers have. Thompson, Tuch, Dahlin, Skinner, Cozens all better players than anyone the Flyers have. - PLindbergh31
Isn’t it even more sobering to think they still have 5 first round picks and 3 2nd round picks coming soon. Plus whatever they add this year? |

People talking like Frost had an unbelievable game, two goals great. Played a part in 3 goals against where he missed picking up a guy or the puck and the Okposo goal was one of the most egregious out worked moments of the entire season. - ClaudeFather
Not denying the Okospo goal -- took the wrong angle was hooked and never could recover. I do not call anything egregious on the other goals. The eye test for me is Keith Jones hates him and he is even complimenting his improved defense.....
He is finally getting consistent ice time with non-Neanderthals and it shows |

everyone keeps saying "Couturier gets back to form". Even if he does, which is a long shot, he will NOT put THIS team over the hump. Next year they will have Couturier @ 7.75, Hayes @7.1, RR @ 5+, Sanheim @ 6?, TD at 5+ plus JVR's 7 for the next over-the-hill overpayment. That is a whole lot of money for a whole lot of average. This team is in desperate need of ELCs, but, of course, a precursor to these are drafts picks - mr4tno
we're going to have to burn a few years until those contracts expire |

Buffalo locked Samuelson up 8/32 mil.
If you can lock York up like that you do it. |

If they could sign those 3 using JVR's money that would be fantastic, but you are just pushing the can down the road. Of course, it seems like whenever they try to go long, the player regresses. I would sign Bellows for the Phantoms. If he gets claimed so be it....Lemieux is OK but he will be 28 nest year. If they want to replace ND with him then I'm all for it |

1 year hopefully. i don't remember him seeing the ice after that drop pass into oblivion
not because I wouldn't resign him the following year but i'd make it clear there's still work to do

ctaes in the future i could see more of a scott laughton deal. frost will depend on his continued growth i guess. going younger, eventually they will identify the core and lock those guys up, but get what your saying.

So I woke up this morning and decided to make the trip to Pittsburgh for the Crosby experience. So far this place is very disappointing. - SuperSchennBros

Thank you!
Never saw Crosby, Malkin or Letang live. With Toews tiring, I thought I’d come see them for a game |

All those posts about how Frost was another Jason Akeson and he's already cracked 40 points in his first full NHL season. |
