Only took 6 years but you are correct. - SuperSchennBros
FYI Joel outscored Brayden on his own in 20-21. |

Can anyone confirm the report of Michkov's father being found dead in a pool? Apparently his father had been missing for a couple days. |

It's not the Western teams that throw off the schedule as much as it is they are playing the Atlantic Division too much.
CBJ - 4x
CAR - 4x
But...
NYR - 3x
PIT - 3x
Makes no sense. It should be super simple:
16 Western teams - 2x (32 games)
8 Atlantic Division - 2x (16 games)
7 Metro Division - 4x (28 games)
6 games left over - you could give three each to Atlantic / Metro based on previous years standings. You could add extra rivalry games to Metro. You could add extra games to Atlantic. You can use some of those games to play the dumb overseas games or outdoor games. - atibus
Honestly, there is no need to play the Western teams more than once per season and you can simply alternate home and away. You can then play the Atlantic teams 3 times each season
So,
West 16 x 1 = 16 games
Atl. 8 x 3 = 24 games
Metro 8 x 5 = 40 games
This gets us to 80 and the final 2 can be a Sat/Sun back to back “rivals” game vs a division opponent.
Owners should love this as it cuts travel costs and creates rivalries. |

the new schedule is what killed some of the rivalries.

Flyers will get a 2nd if JOB doesn't sign. It could be in 2023 but more likely 2024. - MBFlyerfan
Doubtful even if he makes the NHL he will ever be better than a 3rd line player at best. Decide to not sign him, let someone else have a crack at him and take the pick. |

But then again the upside of any player they would take in the 2nd in 2024 is probably gonna be similar, except there would be a 5-6 year wait for that player to crack the lineup.
I'm sure that's what the Flyers are weighing right now. They kinda need decent young players sooner than later. And JOB is still a decent young player. |

Regardless if this story is accurate or not, I don't see Michkov going in the 1st round anyway given the circumstances with Russia, plus he is a very small winger. |

And LA won a Cup w/ Richie, whom Brayden was originally traded for. When Joel gets traded away he'll inevitably win a Cup as well. It's Flyers tradition. |

He is most certainly going in the first round. There is no doubt about that. That is a 100% certainty.
If he fell to us at 7 the Flyers should sprint to the podium and take him. I doubt he falls that far.

weirder things have happened. coots fell during his draft year due to getting mono. there was someone else who fell pretty far years ago but forget who it was. not willing to search random draft years trying to figure it out. just remember the commentators at the draft saying he'd be the next pick and it was like 10 later (maybe exaggerated) when the person went.

Yeah, to be honest, I would put the chances of him falling to us at 30% for. Which I guess is high. You just don't pass up on a kid like that. Some say he rivals Bedard. I wont go that far but he is arguably the #2 best prospect in the draft.
Ill wait the three years and let him develop in the KHL and he comes over when he is 21 ready to go.

There's a huge difference between falling from 1st to 8th to falling completely out of the first round. |

While I doubt he falls out of the top 5. It's not outside the realm of possibility.

Guys can slide a few picks for reasons but I can't ever recall a kid who was #2-4 in the final pre-draft rankings falling out of the 1st-round.
(especially when we're talking about a "generational" talent) |
