He is most certainly going in the first round. There is no doubt about that. That is a 100% certainty.
If he fell to us at 7 the Flyers should sprint to the podium and take him. I doubt he falls that far. - MBFlyerfan
Why do you think this? Given what happened to the Flyers goalie prospect, you don’t think teams will be cautious? The flyers can’t afford to screw this pick up, they need a player that is going to play for them, not a player that will be stuck in Russia for the foreseeable future because of growing tensions between our two countries. You must take this into account! |

weirder things have happened. coots fell during his draft year due to getting mono. there was someone else who fell pretty far years ago but forget who it was. not willing to search random draft years trying to figure it out. just remember the commentators at the draft saying he'd be the next pick and it was like 10 later (maybe exaggerated) when the person went. - Peter Richards
That was Alexei Cherepanov. Central scouting had him rated as the #1 European player in that 2007 draft, and was projected to be a top pick. He ended up falling to 17 and the Rangers finally grabbed him.
It's odd that Coots supposedly fell to the Flyers due to mono, yet he didn't actually have any drop-off in his overall production. He matched the previous season output in less games played.
Contrast that with a guy like Patrick, who had one outstanding season (on a very very deep Wheat King team), otherwise every junior year was plagued with injuries and he stayed in the top 2 lol |

Take this for what’s it worth, heard from a friend who is northeast NHL scout that he heard rumblings that Torts might be the GM of of the Flyers as early as next season and Shaw will run the bench. Briere would be president of hockey ops. - jd250
Wow, interim general manager to president just like that? He's really working his way up. |

At least he didn't say he is an AHL player. Progress. - MJL
Actually he is below an AHL player. You are such a fraud, you have never even seen the player play, so why even comment? |

What is your friends name? That is absolutely frightening. It would be so Flyer though.

Teams will be perfectly willing to wait 3 years for an elite talent.

You're right. I have never seen him play. Yet this "fraud" still knows more than you. |

Because he is an elite talent and the Flyers should have no problem waiting until his KHL contract is up. He will be 21 when that happens. The tensions between our countries didn't stop all the other Russians from coming over since the 80's. The money is too good.
He could by some chance fall to 7. There is absolutely ZERO chance he falls out of the first round. ZERO.

Technically he is right but that was not the spirit of the comment, and he knows that. |

Oh god I hope not. Torts will be drafting 3rd liners who led the CHL in blocked shots and hits.

So Rocky Thompson is behind the bench tonight and Tortorella is just watching again? |

The KHL is generally considered the 2nd best league in the world, so if we wanna get pedantic Michkov is actually already above an AHL player.

I'll go with that. He's wrong then. I have to admit that I was wrong also. I thought jd250 was right about something. I was wrong. |

last week in the one press conference he said this was going to happen. as they know where they are at (out of the playoffs) to get his assistants the experience as acting like the head coach. professional development

I think at this point, barring some crazy results, we are pretty much locked in at the 7th worst record.
That leaves us with a 6.5% chance at the 1st pick. A 6.9% chance at the 2nd pick. A 44.4% chance at the 7th pick. A 36.5% chance at the 8th pick. And a 5.6% chance at the 9th pick.
Start accumulating good karma so the Hawkey Gawds smile on us and Punish the Blackhawks for all their transgressions. While helping us for trying to win games.
Oh glorious Hawkey Gawds, we beseetch thee to smile upon our honest effort to maintain the integrity of the game you hath given us. We humbly ask that you smite the pedophile homophobes in Chicago and curse them with the 3rd pick in the draft.
In Gordie's name we pray
Amen.
