I have always felt that way too. Anderson scored some key playoff goals on the way to winning the cup, but Gartner not getting that ring was a tragedy.

Gartner had always strong games against the Devils. In his past years with the Caps, teams always focused on him limiting his scoring since he was the best scorer on those Caps teams, on that Ranger team, he could have had an incredible post season.

Overall, I like Trochek and what he brings to this team. He takes a few too many dumb penalties, but I enjoy his physical play so I'll accept them. The only thing I didn't like about his signing was the length of contract he was given. Not sure its going to age well, but that is a discussion for a few years from now...

Its got us in a bit of a pinch now, but once that huge cap boost comes, and continues to grow... in 5 years, a 33-34yo Trochek centering the 3rd line making 5m per wont be so bad when the cap is like 90m. Ultimately it will come down to the kids, and their long term extensions, thats were it could potentially get tight. Its something to revisit after LAF and Miller get their extensions and hopefully Motte resigned. Then we can get a slightly better picture of things.

Thats different. That’s if they are in Canadian juniors, they can play 9 NHL games before being sent back to juniors.
