Pretty sure tonight was the first time Harpur has fought since he got KO’d in the preseason. Also, not sure if it translated on TV, but one thing I noticed live was Fox looks slooowwww. Just doesn’t have any jump in his step.

They answered your call about toughness. They were bad asses tonight. Losing the captain like that and everyone to a man stepping up is an enormous lift for them, a galvanizing type win.

Great game for sure, the kid line looks amazing live, constantly working and hustling. Kakko looked great tonight. Best overall effort in the past 16/17 games I’d say.

I think that may have been Kakkos best game ever. He is really turning a corner. Laf is next. He’s getting there too

Harpur was a big part of that and likely won’t dress when everyone is healthy come playoff time. Slightly concerning, but I think if guys like Kreider and Mikkola can up their physical play come playoffs they’ll be fine. I was a little concerned how slow/uncomfortable Fox looked, not sure if he appeared that way live also, but definitely something that stood out to me tonight.

As soon as I sat down the guys in front of me started talking about what a mistake Kane was, so I had a big smile for that one, but then when Trouba got the Gilbert award said how overrated Trouba was and how they should trade him, so couldn’t agree there haha.

GREAT WIN tonite!

Just a few quick observations:

1) Perry is a well-known POS, but I don't think the Trouba injury was the result of a "dirty" play. It was just an awkward collision with 2 players that saw Trouba land on his face. I'm thinking maybe a jaw or cheekbone needed to get x-rayed or checked out.

2) Kid line is looking like they are peaking at just the right time of the season! Schneider actually did look like Baby Trouba on the Paul hit -- LOL!

3) WTF happened to Jeannot? I was advocating that the Rangers try to acquire him for our 4th line. Tampa paid 5 total draft picks to get him and its proving to be an INSANE overpay! Tonite was chippy and physical and even though I was focusing on him whenever he was on the ice, he was barely noticeable. This was the type of game I would expect him to stand out, and he had only 2 nondescript hits. I am truly shocked at his regression this season...

4) Coverage of the game by TBS was surprisingly good. So much better than ESPN!

5) Putting a 6 spot on both Vasilevskiy and that smug Cooper just made me smile ear to ear!

On to St. Louis!!

I dont understand how Kane is a "big mistake"?

the price wasn't nearly enough to call it that

it was a no brainer of a risk to take

Rangers are the highest scoring team in the NHL since the Tarasenko deal on February 10th

and now once again have the 2nd biggest goal differential in the National Hockey League

the only real mistake would have been if the cap crunch they put themselves into doing it, playing shorthanded, set them on a losing spiral that put them in wild card or made the playoffs in jeopardy

obviously that didnt happen, their record has been great, so what is the problem?

of course this team has a better chance of playing until June if it has Patrick Kane on it as opposed to if they had Johnny Brodzinski on it instead

I agree with Tommy. I think Trouba's injury was just a fluke result of 2 guys hitting him together. Happened too quick for him to get a hand off his stick and stop the face plant. I'm hoping it is his neck or jaw that is the issue and one game off is all he needs.

We looked pretty (frank)ing good though, didn't we?

Perry didn't need to put his leg through the back of his knee though.

Of all the things last night, Colton jumping Schneider really got me angry most of all

Chris Kreider was asked about passing Vic Hadfield for the fifth-most goals in franchise history:

"We've got St. Louis tomorrow."

I still can't believe the anti Kreider sentiment you guys say exists on twitter.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising when I hear fans at the game explaining the rules completely wrong to people they're with, this is what we're dealing with.
