this guy has been awesome

No doubt. Bringing him in and then trading for Kane which sent Vesey to the fourth line has been a game changer. Completely changed our fourth line from being one of the worst to arguably one of the best

Should have kept him over Reaves. Motte is another guy who's easy to root for because he wants be here.

welp, at least they only traded Gauthier to get Motte back

I don't understand why Ottawa wanted to do that

Because Gauthier has contractual control and a little bit of upside.

Ottawa's ownership is very cheap. Wonder if it was money related. I know Motte doesn't make much, though.

I was just perusing cap friendly and I saw Ottawa gave Artem Zub 4.6 million a year

I dont understand how Kane is a "big mistake"?

the price wasn't nearly enough to call it that

it was a no brainer of a risk to take

- jimbro83

He stinks and he hasn’t been good. For the picks we sent we could’ve had someone else. I agree he’s an upgrade over Brodzinski, but that doesn’t mean it had to be Kane or no one. We played possibly the most complete game since the new year last night and it was without him. Since we got him, aren’t we not able to give anyone any rest before the playoffs bc we don’t have the space for call ups? Genius.

Couldn't find any concrete reason behind it, but he has only played 1 of Ottawa's last nine games.

And this is coming from someone who hated Kane coming here almost as much as you (directing at nyrangers942738293729). If Tom can make the 180, so can you!

who?
- jimbro83

We can play this game all day, we don’t know who was actually available. But for what it’s worth I’d take Nino over Kane, and we wouldn’t of had to deal with playing short handed or not being able to rest some guys before the playoffs.

Nashville traded Nino and retained none of his 4 million cap hit

this is a big fail

He does. And outside of this blog, there was plenty of ppl at the game last night saying the same, walking up the stairs, at the stands, the guys in front of me, etc. He’s past his prime, and let’s hope the hip issue we all knew he had but denied he had isn’t acting up just in time for the playoffs.

well, yeah, if Patrick Kane was still in his prime we wouldn't have been able to acquire him

How much are we retaining on Kane? I’m not worried about Nino for next year, could flip him at the draft or during the off-season.

Oh the guy walking up the stairs said it?!? AND the guy in front of you!!!?? Shyt, hopefully the Rangers have some job openings in the summer. Maybe they can hire these experts since they seem to know so much!

Also, nobody denied he had a hip issue. It was public information. That's part of the reason we got him for a second round pick........

the Rangers cap hit for Patrick Kane is 2.625 mil

and they had to play shorthanded even to make that fit

they weren't going to play shorthanded to add Nino (frank)ing Neiderreiter LMAO

So u don’t think not being able to rest guys before the playoffs is important? And we can’t do that now bc of this dolt.

I don't dislike him as the person. Just what he wasn't doing Chicago in terms of hockey. But he's been way better here. Great? Eh not really, better than "stinks.", yes. That's just a fact.
