Ullmark and Levi were two completely separate entities.
You can't hinge your future on goalie prospects that are years away.
Ullmark did not receive the term from Buffalo and the allure of playing for a better team was there. It's that simple.

Ullmark used the Sabres for leverage against the bruins contract wise. He got what he wanted and is on a much better team
Ullmark hasn’t gotten better. He just has an Amazing roster in front of him
A majority of the time, a goalie is a product of the team in front of them.

ive beaten on this a bunch, and while this can be true, there are many instances in which it's not. Freddie Andersen is underperforming and Carter Hart is overperforming, based on what is in front of them.

Hence why I said majority of the time. Some outliers do happen. |

Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
Quinn-Cozens-Peterka
-Mitts-greenway
-Krebs-
VO can be moved
Let Girgs walk
Fill out the rest of that forward lineup?
Kulich L3
Rousek L4
You have a whole slew of other forward prospects that don’t have spots. - ImThatGuy
Yep and Savoie is probably ahead of Kulich and certainly Rousek just based on the limited options where he can play

Next year I would like to see Krebs with some offensive players.
I feel like he makes some great passes that girgensons and Okposo flub on |

Shaq lawson is back
So the d line is set
Linebacker and WR are still needed |

What have you thought about mitts at center?
Could a Krebs, Mitts line work if you could find a solid finisher? Or are those two too “pass first” to work

Not only are they past first, they are way to small and soft to manage a line of their own. |

That bottom 6 ain’t gonna cut it.
Hockey teams have roles,
Savoie/Krebs/Kulich - 1 can take away a significant bottom 6 role, not all 3.
The Sabres have terrible PK and play terrible defense due to this seasons roster having too many top 6 style players in the bottom 6.
So your lineup is probably right for next year. |

Might want to read the article about the new movement method the Bruins goaltending coach taught Ullmark this past offseason that has helped him improve a lot. |

Ullmark has gotten better, but it’s also pretty clear the Bruins play a great defensive system. They have 2 goalies in the top 4 for sv% and GAA. That is actually pretty incredible |

Mitts. I am getting more and more sold on him at center. Do I love him at a 1C? Absolutely not.
But if he was out 3C for the next couple years. I wouldn’t be mad.
Krebs can go on the wing or Vice versa |

So many goalies have had success in the bruins system
Tukka had an entire career of it
Tim Thomas
Ullmark
Swayman
Vlader
The list goes on and on.
I don’t think Ullmark sucks. I just think he’s a good goalie on a great team.
Vaselesky on Tampa for years had the benefit of playing on basically an all star team. Does that mean he’s the best?
The hurricanes can literally make any goalie they have look good
So many other examples of that |

What is your ceiling for Krebs?
Can he reach it playing the roles he is asked to play for the Sabres? |

It isn't quantifiable so there is no right answer, but if you took either of them from the Bruins and put them here, how much do you think their save percentage falls? Just curious what we think the impact is. |

I think I’m with Sabretooth on this one. They’re both good goalies being made to look great by a well designed system. The Bruins are an incredible organization the way they can swap pieces in and out for years and never seem to skip a beat. |

Agreed 100%,, Boston has been a stalwart team for years. But I kind of feel like Ullmark, if retained, would be right around the .915 he was at when he was here. Problem is, I have very little justification for that number outside of a vague, "he'd have harder shots coming in on average", kind of rebuttal. I wish there was a model that showed the correlation between team wins and save percentages. |

what if, and bear with me here...
they have a superior goalie coach.
multiple coaches, consistent great goaltending.
Bob Essensa (former Sabre) has been with the Bruins since 2003. |
