Wtf does “hard balling” Malkin have to do with grandlund dumbass!?!?
- ChrisMS

Hardballing Malkin would be the one event in Hextall penguins history where he was actually doing his job. Still an overpayment for what Malkin provides overall but not as terrible as it could be. But hey the Pittsburgh hockey entertainment group loves those milestone nights. I’m sure given How long Carters played they could extend him again to milk a few out of the old horse.

You think? In all seriousness though the Malkin signing was the one time Hextall actually was diligently doing his job. The Pens owe Malkin nothing, he’s been more than compensated for his work.

He’s producing like he did his first year with the pens. Gonna have the Blues FO fooled into thinking he found his game and is a legit top 6 winger

At least they didn't have to give up a first to find out they're wrong.

Caps up over the Islanders 3-0. Tonight might be our chance. Florida and Toronto 0-0 at the end of the first.

Crazy that two of those teams lost tonight. Can totally see the Pens laying a stinker in one of the next two haha.

He owed the Pens nothing as well....came back for less than other places were willing to give mainly because his teammates hounded him through texts and calls so much throughout the summer to come back. This info is straight from Max Talbot's mouth.

Market value: 9.2 mill

Agreed, same with Crosby. He's been more than compensated for his work. I fully expect him to get little more than the veteran minimum if he signs an extension.

The GM’s job is to pay the least amount possible for the best players possible. Malkin got signed to market value or he would have left. There’s a reason he signed at such an odd time, his agent probably told him he could leave Pittsburgh but it would be for around the sane term and money.

Nah. He would have left for 9.2. It’s a heart warming story though.
