He’s not wrong. It was just one of the more crystal clear statements I’ve heard from him. Usually it’s “yea I’m excited and we’re excited and this is really excited and we’re excited about it”. So I feel like there may have been more seriousness behind this quote from him. Could be wrong tho.

no way. all of the "captain stuff" Jack is saying is the stuff Nico said during interviews during the playoffs. Those guys definitely follow Nico's example really closely.

Agreed. I think they'll all get done. Maybe I'm putting too much faith into Fitz, but besides the Palat contract he's given us no reason to doubt him.

Yeah for sure. Playoff Palat showed up when it mattered most in round 1. The issue was always going to be year 4 and 5 of the deal, but if the cap goes up significantly by then it really shouldn't matter too much. This summer *should* be the last one of minimal increase, but you never know.

That's what fans want, to get Lindy out from being the coach lol. But management and the players clearly want him coaching this team, and unless Lindy doesn't want to be behind the bench anymore he'll stay the head coach.

Its all up to what Lindy wants pretty much, so if he stays as the head coach, Brunette will likely be gone. He has an out-clause in his contract for a head coaching position, and multiple teams are already rumored to be wanting to interview him. Calgary would be my bet if he goes elsewhere.

Whatever happens I want the team to get an actual powerplay coach for the first time since I can remember.

If you can get Nylander without giving up Bratt then you need to do it. I wouldn't trade Bratt for him though. Essentially equal impacts but Nylander is 3 years older and will be more expensive after next season. But I also don't think the Leafs are trading Nylander. It seems to be the common thought out there that Marner is the guy they're gonna move.

Doesnt seem like a suitable partner though for a trade. Too much money there unfortunately. Devils will likely be looking for a top 6 or top 9 forward upgrade, but it won't be coming from the Leafs.

Feels weird the Leafs are looking to trade anybody other than all of the "hockey guys" think they "play soft".

Lindy is coming back as Coach.
