A major difference between the Kings rebuild and the Sabres:

At the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Doughty said in his exit interview, “With all this cap room, yeah, we got to bring guys in, that’s it, for sure. There’s no point in just waiting for these prospects to develop when you’ve got guys in their prime, guys that are hungry to win, and guys that are sick of losing, so, yeah, we got to bring guys in.”

That's it right there, someone show that to Adams.

But Adams needs flexibility to sign Dahlin...

Meatball said we’re to expect conviction next year…I guess that he is referring to something about the lava temperature hot pockets in the locker room. The microwave is from the old regime and conviction is the future.

Like he said the goal is to improve

If you were to go back to the McDavid/Eichel draft with hindsight, would Eichel still go 2OA?

https://www.eliteprospect...raft/nhl-entry-draft/2015

For me it’s:

Marner

Then Eichel interchangeable with:

Rantanan
Werenski
Chabot
Barzal

What a 1st round

McDavid snake bitten this playoffs or Korpisalo that good?

- washedup20

If eichel didn’t have the injury he is the 2nd best player in that draft. But it’s a lot closer than they sold it

Mikko would look nice on Cozens wing.

That's the thing though. Sabres don't have any aging Vets the quality of Doughty nor Kopitar to speak those words with the same meaningful impact.
Their aging Vets are replacement level quality

The Sabres we’re paying Thompson, Cozens, Dahlin and Power under 10 million combined.

They will never have cap saving like that again, that’s what kills me about this.

True, but the Value from Tuch and some other players before extensions that will kick in goes a bit towards that. If we just go off Adams taking over and when Blake took over. It's time to maximize the value that goes along with it to. LA built the coufer and then used it at the appropriate time because they had so many prospects, almost like the Sabres. Gonna start blocking each other if he doesn't move some.

The interesting part of what the Kings have done is how their forward prospects have turned out.

They'd be in deep sh!t if they only relied on them.

Can Tuch and Tage be considered as aging?

They are going to turn 27 and 26 respectively later this year.

Isn't the time now?

Joker like most Sabres need to bulk up,

Another successful rebuild story to start your Monday morning with:

- washedup20

They also have a competent NHL caliber goalie, that goes a LONG way into kick starting a rebuild... They also play in a city were I would imagine 90% of young men would love to play in.

"Now" isn't in Adams or Garanato's vocabulary

Who is suggesting 'Murraying' anything?

Only suggesting not hoarding all the assets.

Any trade the Sabres ever make is now Tim Murraying the entire organization.

Greenway = Murraying
Stillman = Murraying.

GMKA traded away future assets that amounted to zero playoff games so far, the same as Tim Murray.

Agreed, it is time IMO to create a couple packages to secure:
-RhD for Power,
-Power F with finishing skills,
-1B Goalie
The difference is the Kings have 2 HoF players being very vocal about it.
That carries a ton of weight.

So I am not arguing the need, rather pointing out the difference in quality of players voicing concern.

Agreed, I am hoping Adams doesn't need Tuch or Dahlin saying anything. Think he can prove alot to this fanbase this offseason in what he does.
