Definite pick your poison kind of situation. Maybe they rise to the occasion after Brind’Amour’s comments last time we played them if they need some motivation. Hopefully they elevate their game and we get Romanov and Barzal back at some point during the series.

I feel like we're playing with house money. I'll take all the playoff hockey I can get. I just hope they can keep it competitive.

I’m sure I like this side of the bracket for the islanders.

I don’t expect them to beat Carolina but I really didn’t think they had a chance against Boston. But if they do upset them I like their chances against the rags or devils.

Agreed, it was a joke. We have a better shot with the Canes. Also, with Svechnikov out it weakens their top 6. If we can get Barzal and or Romanov back in reasonably soon we have a shot.

I hope I am as wrong as I have been about Brock Nelson. However, I think the Candy Canes take this series in six games.

The only way I see this team making Candy Cane Crush in the first round is if Sorokin steals it.

The Canes under Brind'Amour use a defensively oriented strategy.........not unlike the Isles........but their d-men are overall better. It will be interesting to see who is our 6th d-man, if Romanov can't play on Monday. Bolduc has certainly not earned that spot.

Just hope the Islander score a little more than the last Canes playoff series. Bolduc getting in playoffs games would be a great experience, but Wotherspoon seems like the better choice now.

It's gonna be tough, for sure, but the one thing working for them is that the Canes goaltending is not as solid as 5 years ago. Of course, their defensive structure could stimy the Isles' offense nonetheless. It should be an interesting series...
