I'd like to congratulate you guys on re-hiring Ron Hextall as GM. I think he'll be a great asset to your organization.
- SuperHenderson13

LOL, we tried but Hextall expressed he would like to ruin a 3rd franchise.

The fact is there is zero chance Hart gets traded, he is a franchise goalie and they are very hard to come by. How many true franchise goalies are there in this league? Think about it. Also according to reports Briere is going to be aggressive in this draft and trade up into the top 3 or 4 as I have posted many times that he should. He knows this team is in much better shape than people on here think they are, and if they get that franchise top center they are right back in business with Gauthier coming also. You don’t ever trade a franchise goalie when you are closer than people think.

Gretzky got traded. So anything is possible.

Hextall will get another job in the NHL. If he wants one.

He won't get another GM job. No one was knocking down his door after the Flyers fired him and after his latest debacle I sincerely doubt anyone will hire him as GM again.

I would disagree wholeheartedly that the reason for his doing so was to grow and gain experience for his assistants. In my opinion, his reason is strictly ego driven as he sees himself as more than just the head coach. He sees himself as the savior of this team and his true objective is to exert influence over the future direction of this team. It's a frightening scenario.
- MJL

Well, Torts said that was the reason, and the assistants seemed genuinely happy for the opportunities in their pressers. As far as the Flyers power structure goes, I think it important that they get the President in place in the next month. I get that it takes time and is a critical decision not to be rushed, but the absence is a huge void in the leadership as laid out by Hilferty during an equally critical timeframe for the direction of the organization.

Hart has established that he is a NHL starter. Of course, the level of team one plays on matters. He gets traded to a contender and all the sudden “franchise goalie.”

so who are we shooting for 1st overall in 2024? what are the top prospects
- 2Real

Probably should start looking around 7-11 for the foreseeable future. Maybe there's a top 5 spritzed in there before 2029.

Hart wont be traded he will never bring back the assets that some expect. Goalies just dont bring a great return especially one who has been somewhat injury prone and inconsistent. Getting a 2nd rd pick for Hart just isnt worth it

Think about what you're saying. The FACT is that there is zero chance Hart gets traded. That may be your opinion but that is not a fact. I have news for you. Hart is not a franchise goaltender. Reliable sources such as Eliotte Friedman disagree with you that there is zero chance.

Briere is going be aggressive and trade up? Or is he going to try and trade up?

So now you're back on the quick fix horse. Good luck.

- MJL

I agree that there is zero chance of zero chance.

I would expect the President of Hockey Ops to be in place by the lottery. Out of the candidates rumored, still like Robert Esche the best.

If I was Hextall, the way they treated him, I wouldn't want to come back here.
- MJL

Of course not and what has transpired over the last few years has shown why he was tuning people out in this organization, imo.

This is true, but in general they have to have had a modicum of success. Hexy has now failed twice. Does he get a third chance? We shall see as you said.

He's most likely going to have to rehabilitate himself somewhat. He'll have to take a lesser role on a team and build himself back up again to have a chance.

I guess so. But if you do trade him it better be for a boatload and I have no confidence of that. It’ll be a salary dump in view of the next contract.
- Hextall271

No way hart is traded as a salary dump. Not a chance.
There will be several teams bidding for him if he is available
