The closest series odds of all the series yet the Rangers have the lowest odds to win the cup lol. How doesn’t florida have the lowest odds to win the cup - Rangers99
Odds also reflect how $$$ much is backing each team betting wise. Rangers have a larger fan base than Florida, its that simple. |

No, just understand that the odds just indicate how the house/casino doesn't lose too much on the final outcome... |

Bottom line. The term “odds” as it pertains to betting is dumb and misleading |

That’s a game they wouldn’t have won in years past. |

I still can't believe the radio home for the Devils is WFAN
how many people actually listen to a Devil game?
if it's 90 people a broadcast I think that would a high number |

The scoring by defensemen this season is crazy to me! Not just Karlsson getting 101. But, the fact that Fox's 72 points ranks him 8th!!! And right behind him is Makar with 66 points in 60 games. |

The talent level of the players in the league now is astronomically higher than that of players 30 years ago. |

It is remarkable to see the point totals. It’s also very nice to have a Dman in the running for the Norris annually.
How many years did Mcdonagh lead the D corps with like 40 points? |

This is the correct take. Imagine dropping Alex Ovechkin into the 80's where almost all the goalies were still playing a stand up style? He'd score 100 goals every year. |

It's not like I'm not aware of this fact. I was simply pointing it out as remarkable, as last season with almost the same point total Fox was 4th rather than 8th. In 2020-21, there were only 7 defensemen above 50 points. Prior to that, it was even more noteworthy to see such elevated totals.
Thanks for trying to make me feel like an idiot.

Wasn't insulting you were the idiot. Wasn't a shot at you either. I have had this discussion with friends before. Like just drop Mcdavid in the 80's. Nobody would catch him. Zero. |

Some funny Igor quotes from today's Athletic article:
Of having two Stanley Cup winners added to the room in Kane and Tarasenko: “They sign for me lots of jerseys. I put them on Russian eBay. Don’t tell them.”
And if he could hand out the Vezina this year: “Of course, I want to give it to Ilya (Sorokin, Islanders goalie and a close friend of Shesterkin’s). He was the player who helped Islanders jump into playoffs. But Linus (Ullmark, Bruins goalie) have an outstanding season, lots of wins, under-2.00 GAA, over .925 (save percentage). He have maybe two regulation losses — I did that first week of the season.”

I know. Just goofing around in a dead chat room!
As for something like McDavid in the 80's, it all evolutionary. Without Orr, there is no Gretzky. Without Gretz, no Jagr. Without Jagr, no Crosby. Without Crosby, no McDavid. I've shown clips of Gretzky to my nephews and they're like "Cool. But, nothing that special." But, the true genius is that no one had ever stopped to consider the game could be played like that. And everyone who came after had a new standard and new ideas to be implemented. |
