No NHL employment 10 years later to date pretty well settles any argument about his tenure. - VANTEL
Doesn't help that as an agent, he screwed many of the old boys club members on contract negotiations, and acted like a arrogant little poop most of the time. |

Goalie as captain and all the bullpoop that came with it was definitely unique to Gillis. I also don't remember any Canuck GM trying to sign a 40+ y/o over the hill player like Sundin for 2 years at $20m(prorated at todays market would be much higher). Luckily Sundin chose 1 year instead... which turned out to be 3 or 4 months in the end. That Sundin signing was pretty unique... - boonerbuck
By 'unique', do you mean f ucked? |

Gillis is a very intelligent person, a critical thinker who rubbed people the wrong way, the press being one of them. He was a finalist for President of the NHLPA. He's too much of a deep thinker to be a GM. |

Watching the islanders Carolina game. I had no idea how soft Carolina is. No wonder they can’t win on the road |

Lol. He (frank)ing sucked both games. I saw him shove one guy in a scrum and then sprint away before the guy had a chance to drop him |

Panthers score after the whistle and they are going to count it.
Considering that this league is partnered with gambling, how they (frank) does this poop fly? NHL is the most fake professional league there is. It lays somewhere between real sports and WWF/WWE or what ever fake wrestling is called now.
I hate the Bruins but seeing just how much this league cheats in front of millions of watching eyes and cares little of how bad it looks just disgusts me.

Would anyone really care if someone took a run at Edler full on and hit him in the numbers neck first to the boards?
The guy is as dirty as Kasparitis with the knee on knee. I was so glad when we got rid of him, the Matt Cooke of D men. |

Feel for Boeser and what he's been battling, shines some light on his dismal year...
Boeser said he not only hid his true feelings from friends on the team, like Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes, but didn’t even tell his mom, Laurie, until after the Canucks final game last Thursday in Arizona.
“It was a long year; I went through some stuff,” he said. “I'm trying to explain this right. It's hard for people to understand the aftereffects of what I went through. Unless you really go through this, you can’t understand what it's like dealing with a (dying) family member. I really blamed hockey for not being home with my dad. That was a big challenge I worked through this year. And with my hand injury, then the trade rumours, and I wasn't playing good – it just all was a lot.” |

So keep Boeser who could get better and trade Garland and Myers. That helps the OEL mess since he’s not going anywhere. Trade for D and 3C not sure if we fill from within or by trade on a RFA. Avoid UFA spending on older players. |

Not to sound heartless but this is the stupidest excuse I’ve heard from this kid (and he’s full of excuses)…
“It's hard for people to understand the aftereffects of what I went through. Unless you really go through this, you can’t understand what it's like dealing with a (dying) family member.”
Unless you were born in a test tube, every single person in the (frank)ing world has had to deal with a family member dying. What the (frank) is he talking about?
“It’s hard for people to understand”? Hey Brock, everyone understands you stupid twit. You ain’t unique. Now go put on your big boy pants and stop with the excuses. |

To play Devil's advocate... no, not everyone in the world has had to deal with a family member dying, especially people his age. And, from all accounts, he was SUPER close with his dad, and had to watch him slowly go downhill. I lost my dad when I was a bit younger than him, but wasn't as close with him... it had its impact, but my younger sister was really close with him and it ruined her world.
So, he's grieving, and I can understand how he could view hockey as something that kept him away from his dad and that might have been a source of resentment over the past what, 11 months?
Yes, it seems Brock has had a lot of excuses over the years. Did you read the article, or just the pull quote? |
