The game last night. Overall, pretty great. Not the best 2nd period but still really good overall. Kreider, Fox, Tarasenko, Shesterkin, Panarin, Miller, Chyitl and many more all were really strong.
Kid line rebounded after the slow start due to lack of playing time in the first period.
Wanted to highlight Goodrow and Mikkola, who were great at breaking up play in the defensive zone. Might be the best game Goodrow has played as a Ranger.
Hate the penalties, loved the penalty kill. |

Good 1st, yuck 2nd, ok 3rd.
Miller looked shaky as hell, needs to be better. Overall they got the win and it was a good game.
Mikkola has been fantastic as basically a throw in in that trade |

one of my favorite things about Miller is how quickly he can get back to the defensive zone when he gets caught down low trying to create offense

I love Miller, but 2nd half Miller has not been good. His speed does make up for some mistakes.
Rest of the series park kreider in front of the net and fling pucks at him. |

Just read all the back, good to see the piss babies ruined the thread while I didn't post. You can't teach that kind of dedication and derangement.
Anyway, didn't see this covered in the thread. Adam Fox is the first Rangers defensemen with 4 assist in game. That's some of our rightful Norris trophy winner.

Yep. He was noticeable a few times last night making nice checks defending Devil's rushes.
His issues of late seem to be in handling the puck when he's got sufficient time and space. Hopefully just a minor adjustment needed to help him get over it! |

well its hard to enjoy the game when you don't trust the Rangers because they scratched Kakko is game 6 vs Tampa last year
it takes away from the whole thing

I feel that Mikkola was more than extra cap dump in that trade. Thinking Drury wanted him. He's been mostly solid and was great last night along with Goodrow.
Severson should have sat for two minutes for using Goodrow's face as a punching bag. Either way, we scored on the PP anyway. |

Here is analytics that actually compliments Miller and Trouba. (I know analytics bad aHHHh!)
When Trouba and Miller were on the ice at 5 on 5, Devils had 14 controlled zone entries. 0 scoring chances from those entries. Trouba and Miller each had 1 glaring turnover, and the miscommunication with Vlad on the Hughes PS goal. Other than that, they played really well. |

What do those numbers look like for the other pairs? I felt like as a team they kept the Devils to the outside really well other than one or two incredible plays by Hughes |
