Came out flat. Paid for it.
Battled back.
Then their dipsh!t winger took an incredibly selfish, stupid penalty that cost them the game.

Here's the good news
Leafs were the better 5v5 team most of the night. Stay away from the bullpoop and keep the game at 5v5 ...same as last year.
Thursday is guaranteed win night. - The Law
I don't agree. Other than the Tavares line who were just ok the Leafs were outplayed 5v5. Don't let Marner's 3 assists fool you. He was not good. As per usual the time and space disappeared in the playoffs and he generated nothing 5v5 and did not play with pace at all. Tampa were able to gain our zone 5v5 waaaay too easily. |

but it was after they had a decent lead..so whatever
anyways..toss that game out...its over..on to the next one.

It was 3-2, then this penalty
https://twitter.com/TicTa.../1648494315487002628?s=20
also if you pause this as 6 seconds, the hit is....?
https://twitter.com/TicTa.../1648494922675412993?s=20
but look at how hunched over he is, you would have to be about 5 feet tall to not make contact above the chest.
anyayws it could have been a decent hockey game...if the refs (both ways) didnt mess it up - senstroll
Doesn't matter, the head is the principal point of contact. I'm not saying he wanted to hit him in the head, but the end result doesn't look pretty.

if you pause this around 1 second

his shoulder us around his check/neck area, then as the follow through happens..upwards
but you will never be able to avoid head damage...ever with hitting

What an incredible gamer he is.
Even at his age, after slowing down, he's so god damn effective in important games.
Everyone knew (or should have known) he'd be a factor in this series, one of the biggest one despite costing 1M and being on the 4th line.
Unreal.

the leafs can never add a player like that and have them be effective at all.
Kadri, simmonds, Clifford, foligno, bunting, schenn...whoever else.. they get a penalty or suspended

It is getting old and ridiculous. Leafs are under a microscope and other teams have blind refs. |

My eye test is supported by Natural Stat Trick. 34 had the Point line playing on their heels most shifts. Kampf line was winning the battle against Paul ....the (frank)ing Perry line got the best of Accairi most of the night though.
HD chances were 15-6 for the Leafs at 5v5. Leafs were more than fine at 5v5.
The inexcusable gaffe by Holl for the first goal was an individual mistake ...second goal was a bad TO by Marner ......then 4 PP goals. Game over.

So, trying to think back to overall worst playoff performances we have seen. Obviously we all lived through ‘4-1’ but overall this might be the poorest game?
ANd also… what the hell happened last night?? Lol Everyone see the picture of Sandin and Nylander 2.0 in the stands and the looks on there faces? Lol |
