My buddy from TO texted me a pic of him at Fenway yesterday
Then this vid of him with a Good Samaritan act made the news after he ran the Boston marathon

But bunting leaves the ice, it looks like he jumped up into him
Sammie starts next game - Fakepartofme
Bunting does leave the ice - and he does make principal contact with the head. He should get a 1 game suspension from it. Frankly, from my post above, I think Hartman should have received more than 1 game for his hit on Ehlers. If the DOPS thinks that playoff games are more of a punishment than regular season games, then 1 game is appropriate.

Leafs turn up their intensity in the playoffs and they consistently get the book thrown at them hard. Why? I suspect because there's a perception around the league that they're a "soft" team so any increase in intensity and/or physicality boggles ref's minds.
Nonsense? Maybe, but the amount of ticky tack bs that gets called against this team is absurd. Confirmation bias? Maybe, but I don't give a (frank). - mjones242
Ive never seen the words "ticky tack" used so much as i have in the past 14 hours.
I believe another poster on here used it last night.
I saw a tweet from some @casual_mats that used it as well.
Im gonna try and sneak it into a meeting today. |

I'm honestly not trying to pick at you.
You try and be and objective - sometimes to a frustrating fault! - so that "shot" was more for people who feel that Leaf fans feel hard done by.
I feel often we are. I watch a lot of games. Edmonton and Toronto get the short end of the stick a lot. To put it in perspective, teams that I will cheer for if Toronto isn't playing: Edmonton, Pittsburgh and Winnipeg; I like Jersey, Carolina, Colorado and even LA. So this isn't just bias, which I obviously do have, but there is objective evidence that shows some teams have it worse than others. - Monkeypunk
So you think the reffing is bad for the Leafs, but not so much for their opponents?
What is your theory for that "uneven" reffing?

well I dont expect him to lead the league in WAR, but the 3b FA market is pretty thin
and he is by far the best and youngest available

Well when I'm pausing it at the moment of contact (0.26 seconds) I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. - Scabeh
I come to the conclusion that the principal point of contact was the chest - there may have been some chin in that hit, but Essymount is already spinning away from the contact - he sees it coming. The arm comes up as a part of the follow through on the hit, but Essymount is already spun away, which is why the arm comes up and the head is away.
If you look at that strictly from the left, it looks more flush than it was. It's why there's so many angles.

To me, he hits him in the upper chest and the head at the same time (it's a shoulder after all, not an arrow, so it covers a wide area).
If I'm reffing that game, I'm calling a penalty on the play.
Which would have made 100 times more sense than trying to make up for it on an non-existant slashing call on Perry.
But hey, I'm just a hockey enthusiast, I'm not a professional ref like these guys. |

Agree with Sensy….Bunting leans into a taller player to deliver a hit just as he crouches down. Still head contact, but not intentional.
- mr.sir
Bunting's hit was dirty and there was no need for it...It was just stupid..
There were some bad ref calls that game but that was not one of them
I thought the McCabe hit could/should have been called as well.
And I am a Leafs fan |

Feel free to leave then.
I recall you reporting me and getting me banned for saying pretty much the same thing in a Canucks thread a couple years back when Canucks fans were making death threats against Nazem Kadri and Morgan Reilly after some chippy hits.
Feel free to f@ck off. |

You know I love you Scabby, but I have no franking idea what you are talking about.
That's just a perfect hockey hit. He drives his shoulder/upper arm into the guy's chest.
No head contact.
Certainly no elbow to the head.
It was perfect. |

First of all, the love and respect is mutual.
I don't know what to tell you, I see a shoulder hitting from the top of his chest to his head. It might be some angles that make it look worse and I might be wrong but that's what I'm seeing when I look at it.
There's obviously no elbow there, I agree.

I don't see how that puck fully crossed the line - dmnted
There's a better angle - they showed it last night in the intermission.
Not saying it was in, but there's a much better angle out there somewhere.
I suspect it was in, just by the way both Tampa players immediately celebrated. |
