Agree, but on that 3rd goal, I would have liked to have seen someone stop Slavin from just skating in on Sorokin, even if from a bad angle. - JohnScammo
sOrOkin wasn’t spectacular tonight that’s for sure. Slavic’s goal wasn’t good. |

Fast was by himself after a long cross ice pass and his shot went high in the opposite direction of the post Sorokin has to move to cover. Not reasonable to expect Sorokin to stop that. - jfkst1
I don't think it was a terrible goal on his part but Sorokin has a tendency on occassion to not burst out and challenge a shooter. He tried to hug the post coming accross naturally. More often than not, he would have stopped that |

It hit him in the back of the head. He’s not in good position there for me. He should have been posted up there. No reason not to be.Only thing I can see ids he lost the puck. |

When Palms is tackled going to the net and Mayfield gets a stick to the face( and he was bleeding) right in front of a linesman that stopped the game on a high stick to the face in the first. With the PP being 6-0 in the game. I don’t think it’s unjust to complain about the officiating. The high stick on Mayfield gets called the Canes goal doesn’t count and the Isles are on a PP. - nyisles7
I get it, but doesn’t change the outcome for tonight’s game. We’re down 2-0 in the series head into UBS Friday night. Win that game and I’ll take the isles in 7. Otherwise it’s canes in 6. |

Listen I agree the game is in the books.
However, I don’t usually piss and moan about officiating but tonight was just a shat show in my opinion. Just 6-0 in PPs is ridiculous in itself. 1-0 2-0 in the POs ok. 6-0 come on. With blatant calls missed. Lane was obviously pissed about the officiating in the post game. As he should have been.
As you said. Boys need to move on and come out hard and win game three period. |

Oh, no. I'm referring to the gwg.

Looked like a really good shot unless I missed something. With that said I didn’t rewatch it I was too disgusted to even watch the replay right after it happened. |

The puck went from just inside the blue line to below the opposite side faceoff circle in about a second. Then Fast practically one times the puck high to the opposite direction of the net. Sorokin was technically sound as he moved across the crease then positioned himself to close off the short side. No goalie would move out to challenge the shooter. There was no time to do so. And without benefit of your armchair hind sight, it would be leaving a massive short side gap along the near post. Which you would have inevitably complained about as well if Fast happened to exploit. |

“Klopeck…is that Slavic?”
“NO!”
“That’s about a nine on the tension scale, Rube.”

I cannot fathom any playoff game being 6 powerplays to none, and then the cherry on top being the missed call in overtime.
I would have broken something in my house

That wasn’t the only missed call. Brutal they don’t call that but bad on mayfield for taking himself out of the play complaining to the ref also. They said he got stitched up after the game I didn’t see any blood on him while he was yapping to the ref. Maybe he was really injured but it didn’t look like it. Either way it was a clear call missed. Beat them tomorrow. |

I normally don't like saying that, but I don't know how anyone could say it wasn't. - JimmyP
I use to believe that the ref's were the best officials in all of pro sports. Last night just totally twisted my thought process...
After calling everything to than the non-call on Mayfield in front of two officials facing the play is just sad...
Those officials should be fined.

Your coach needs to get more pissed. Once devils had first two power plays the other night Gallant was already freaking
We got 3rd powerplay of the game shortly after |

Really? I’ve always thought it was a joke to the level of professional wrestling. When you have a guy like Paul Stewart who is still highly regarded (hall of fame I believe)that use too manipulate and try to control games I can’t take it seriously. That guy thought people came to see him. I read somewhere the Canes are 8-0 in the playoffs with this ref. |

8 to 4 including a major in the Leafs and Bolts game....12 PP's in one game....the refs are off their rockers this postseason, so far, anyway. They've been really bad in a lot of games.

Consistency is a major issue with NHL refs. I love all sports but dont follow them near as closely as the NHL, so I cant really speak of the consistency of other refs. The next league I watch the most of is NFL and they seem a bit better.

I feel like the first couple of games in the playoffs they usually call a lot then slowly progress to calling nothing besides blatant trips, slashes, or whenever a player gets injured. |

In fairness I don’t watch anything else but I’m not really sure how officiating could be any worse in any other professional sport. These guys make the sport borderline unwatchable at times. I’m not saying they have some vendetta against the islanders but I am saying the officiating just blows league wide. It’s unacceptable to me. |

I didn’t think that goal was bad but after rewatching the other goals he let up he didn’t have the best game imo. Let’s just say I was a bit distracted last night for two of the goals we let up which to me were soft on his part. Certainly not the norm for Sorokin but he can’t be otherworldly every, single, game. |
