Nice recap Jan. TPC to carry over, I know. You were on the beat day 1. Just mazing t see him doing this. A lot to ask for when Player raises his level play for the playoffs. They have to retire his number at some point.
Lol don’t have to convince me. Why I never get mad when he is streaky during the season. You know he always shows up in the playoffs. Still the most hated ranger on Twitter. What a world we live in

So many storylines. 21 was a monster on the ice no matter how many think he is overpaid. Lindy’s goal was awesome. I think the rangers did a good job on Hughes. Got to keep taking the body on him and know where he is at all times. The kid is really good. Good team win and for those that have said tank doesn’t throw his body his body, last night was really good including his goal. Kane looked pedestrian.

Really strong game with only mild break downs. Goodrow was everywhere doing everything. Kane seemed like he had somewhere else to be and was very casual with his passing/turnovers. If he's not going to get going for NYR/NJD playoffs, he may as well hang them up.

Good to see Kreider do Kreider things. LGR!

Agree with all of this. Goodrow and Motte are exactly the players needed for the playoffs. The way he turns it up and gets under the opponent's skin can't be understated.
Lindgren is something else too.
Was telling my wife that Kreider broke the record last night and how he probably wouldn't acknowledge it. Can't wait to share that quote tonight.
True leader who puts the team first.

For most us. Can't get over the PK holding the Devils to zero shots. Hard to be perfect in any aspect, on the Pk they were.

Not giving Kane a pass because I would definitely love to see more out of him but both he and Zibanejad were underwhelming offensively. Part of that was the Devils played their matchup (Hischer line) against the Zibanejad line all night. Those 2 lines battles to a stalemate 5v5.

While Kane's failed dump in was maddening, I think his "quiet" game had more to do with the Devils' game plan than him not being able to cut it.

I am one of the few who actually don’t think he is that overpaid or overpaid at all. Take a look at what Coleman for Calgary is making, that’s overpaid

He's not overpaid. Kevin Hayes is overpaid by comparison.

Overpaid in the sense that he plays 13 min a game and isn’t a scorer, but what he does is vital to any successful team and he does it well. If he’s in your top 6 something has gone wrong. Decisions will have to be made as he’s got the largest semi movable contract on the team but that’s for the off-season

I would say we pay a premium for his skill set but not over paying. Unfortunately, everything is measured against the cap and every team except Arizona wants more space.

That's the great thing about this lineup though. OK, you stopped Zibanejad and Kane. What about Panarin, Trocheck, Tarasenko, the kids, etc. Good luck.

and if they didn't have Kane, then Vesey moves up and the quaility of that line lessens

and then the 4th line isn't that good because it's Brodzinski on there instead of Vesey

there is nothing to complain about even if Kane had a meh game

While Kane was underwhelming to some and had that bad play, I still thought he looked calm and poised rather than "disinterested". It's game one, let's give them all some time to get their sea legs.

Not disinterested. Just not good enough. It's 1 game. Hope he gets better. Good to see Vlad and Mikkola start strong.

Happy to be proven wrong but I don’t think kane has more than what he’s shown left in him. Whether it’s his hip or something else, who knows. Like you mentioned before we have the luxury of being incredibly stacked so it’s not going to cause an issue

The Devils did a good job limiting that line's chances which takes the pressure off of the other lines.
Since Kane didn't score in game one, let's bench him for Brod. C'mon man! (Not directed at you)
