Oh I know what he said but it’s Rod Brind’Amour lol. The guy is a clown. If you watched it that play happens thirty times a game without a call. It was a pretty innocuous play. He must have hit him in the most perfect spot but it was far from a “chop”. Routine play really that somehow resulted in an injury. Honestly shocked it did. Also wouldn’t shock me if Terrivanen is in next game.

Idk, if you slash a player on the hand and the hand breaks, kinda has to be consider a chop. But if you get high sticked, that also should be called. Especially with the ref standing right there.

Here is Rupp's Zapruder film frame by frame breakdown of the play:

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but if you watch the play it wasn’t what most would consider a slash save for a regular season game that the ref is looking to even out the calls like they annoyingly do at times. Terrivenan didn’t even react till well after the play. Irregardless I’m done discussing this. Refs are brutal for everyone. We just got the short end yesterday. Everyone does at some point.

Yeah, he did. He lifted the stick straight up. Then got slashed across the face when the guy turned and dragged his own stick across horizontally.
I can't believe there's even debate on this. The 'Canes player was 100% not paying attention to how his movement caused his stick to impact the other player. Penalty, by the letter of the law.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more reaction to the refs brutal calls in multiple games so far. Like no writers or pundits are really mentioning it much. It's as if we all just assume this is acceptable and par for the course at this point, and just assume that that's the way the cookie crumbles and hope the calls even out in the end

I just thought it was funny considering the quote from Cpt: "Mayfield didn’t lift his stick. That’s utter nonsense!"

Yeah I'm annoyed about losing Turbo but the refs had been letting that kind of thing go all night. It just caught him in a bad spot.

At this point I'm praying for a Canes sweep and your series to go 7 just so the guys can heal up little.

Kase isn't a top guy. That's an injury most teams should be able to manage. hasen't Gardiner been hurt for the majority of like 2 years? The other 3, that's a kick in the Richard.

I thought he lifted his stick, even if he didnt, Mayfields stick did cause the Canes players stick to come up and then it hit Mayfield. For Mayfield to start chasing around crying for a penalty instead of paying attention to the play, thats on him. Id be more pissed at Mayfield than the officals

Gotta think the Devils come out flying tonight. Try and keep the score at zero or tied for the 1st period.
